Job Deliverables : Area Business Owner
Job Summary:
- The Area Business Owner (ABO) is responsible for managing retail operations across a designated territory.
- The ABO will oversee store performance, ensure sales targets are achieved, and drive business growth.
- This role involves leading and developing a team, ensuring high standards of customer service, and implementing effective marketing and promotional strategies to maximize sales and profitability. You will closely work with the Line Managers and handle a team of Store Managers.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Profitability:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Monitor store performance through regular analysis of sales data, customer feedback, and market trends.
- Identify growth opportunities within the assigned area and implement action plans to achieve sales objectives.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Store Managers and Sales Associates to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve business goals.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear performance expectations, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, ensuring high levels of employee engagement and retention.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure all stores adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards, including visual merchandising, inventory management, and store maintenance.
- Conduct regular store visits to ensure compliance with operational standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement and monitor inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage and optimize stock levels.
Customer Experience:
- Maintain high standards of customer service across all stores, ensuring a consistent and positive shopping experience.
- Address customer complaints and issues promptly, ensuring effective resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Utilize customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Marketing and Promotions:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional campaigns and events.
- Monitor the effectiveness of marketing activities and promotions, making adjustments as needed to maximize results.
- Ensure stores are aligned with brand guidelines and promotional strategies.
Market Analysis and Business Development:
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior in the assigned area.
- Identify new business opportunities, including potential store locations, partnerships, and expansion opportunities.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on area performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Financial Management:
- Manage the area's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and control of expenses.
- Analyze financial reports to track progress against sales targets and profitability goals.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree, Retail Management, or a related field. MBA preferable.
- Proven experience in retail management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and retail management software.

Work Environment:
