Job Summary :
As the Modern Trade Head, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maximize sales and profitability within the modern trade channel. Leveraging your industry expertise and market insights, you will lead a team to establish strong relationships with key modern trade partners and drive the execution of sales plans to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Planning :
- Develop comprehensive strategies to penetrate and expand market share within the modern trade segment.
- Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks.
- Define clear objectives, targets, and KPIs to measure the success of modern trade initiatives.
Business Development :
- Identify and prioritize potential modern trade partners based on strategic fit and growth potential.
- Negotiate favorable terms and agreements to secure listings, promotions, and visibility for our products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor product offerings, pricing, and promotions to meet the needs of modern trade customers.
Relationship Management :
- Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at modern trade accounts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for modern trade partners, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Drive collaborative initiatives, joint business planning, and promotional activities to drive mutual growth and success.
Sales Execution :
- Develop and execute sales plans, trade promotions, and merchandising strategies to optimize sales performance.
- Monitor sales performance against targets, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Analyze sales data and market insights to make data-driven decisions and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Team Leadership :
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing modern trade sales team.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and motivation to empower team members to achieve their goals.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture focused on accountability, excellence, and continuous learning.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- Proven track record of success in modern trade sales and business development within the FMCG industry.
- Strong understanding of modern trade channels, trends, and dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
- Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to inspire and lead teams to achieve targets.
- Result-oriented with a passion for driving growth and exceeding targets.
