The Narayana Group - Copy Editor (2-6 yrs)
We are seeking a motivated and savvy copy editor to oversee our content editing needs in a fast-paced work environment. You will work with a team of creative writers, subject matter experts, and designers to curate compelling and accurate content for our new EdTech product. Your primary duties will include following a content strategy, proofreading, editing, and collaborating with all other stakeholders to deliver quality projects on time.
Role :
1. Edit, proofread, and create (if required) content for different digital formats to drive engagement among learners
2. Ensure the copy sent out is factually and grammatically correct
3. Check for adherence to the company style guide and editorial practices
4. Ensure that the content conforms to industry best practices, ethical standards, and user requirements
5. Research, ideate, and execute new formats to enhance learner experience
6. Researching to formulate ideas or support writing
7. Learning about the target audience for the copy
8. Assisting in other aspects of the creative or research processes to create cohesive, accurate content
9. Coordinate internally with multiple stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of the team's commitments
Requirements
An ideal candidate should be obsessed with grammar, spelling, and syntax.
You should also have:
1. Relevant work experience of 3+ years.
2. Strong editing skills with good grammar
3. Experience in L&D or EdTech and academic training in humanities, journalism, or liberal arts.
4. Experience in publishing and/or editing preferred
5. Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, or related field
6. Patience to rework to suit client needs and willingness to work with short turnaround time
7. Ability to deal with ambiguity and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, results-oriented environment
8. Strong attention to detail, deadline, and delivery orientation, and ability to work under pressure
9. Ability to handle fast-moving projects across internal and external stakeholders
10. Proficiency in desktop publishing software and Microsoft Office are a must.
11. Problem-solving and process management skills, detail orientation, and passion for achieving global quality standards
