Objective:

This role will work closely with the Senior Merchandiser in assorting a product line that accurately represents the brand. The Merchandiser will be a creative fashion enthusiast with experience in fashion designing, merchandising and product development with a women's fast fashion brand.

Key Responsibilities:

New Vendor Development : 

- Evaluate the latest fashion trends, buying patterns, and demographics of the target market and assist in creating weekly / monthly merchandising strategy

- Identify new and existing vendors to source the samples at the best costs

Sourcing & Sampling : 

- Conduct the initial garment selection, recommending the team with colours, trims and fabric that work best with the garment

- Make sure samples are received in time from vendors and participate in fittings to evaluate and making sure they are saleable

- Coordinate both internally and externally to ensure that all production requirements and delivery are met

Product Designing- : 

- Support the Senior Merchandiser in all product design aspects including-

o Research and present key trends, colour and silhouettes to match the signature styling of TLL: Clothing, Home, Accessories, Footwear

o Create lookbooks and techpacks for all product categories with detail technical illustrations for vendors

o Guide the master in pattern making & sampling as per tech packs

Miscellaneous : 

- Participate in weekly business updates, seasonal assortment meetings, and buy meetings.

- Organize and maintain all retail samples as well as best & worst sellers each week

- Manage visual line sheets pertaining to monthly buys

- Work with Production to track deliveries and flag any changes

Education and Experience:

- Bachelors/Masters in Fashion Design with 3-4 years of proven experience with a modern fast-fashion brand/export house/buying house/retail organization

- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop)

- Must have good numerical competency and knowledge of Advance Excel for reporting and analysis

Preferred Skills:

- Strong knowledge of latest fashion trends and ability to create designs that appeal to our target market

- Understanding of The Label Life brand and customer

- Strong organizational skills, ability to use initiative, to be flexible and to work in fast paced environment

- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
