Textual Analytics Solutions - Business Development - Role (3-12 yrs)
Role Responsibilities:
We are looking for entrepreneurial, driven and accomplished sales professionals in Bangalore to join our global sales operations, focused on selling to the hedge fund, asset management, and broker community. These are opportunities to join an established company going through a global expansion phase with the launch of new commercial initiatives and solutions and to make a significant contribution to the company's continued growth and success. The focus of the roles are new client acquisition, but you will also retain the commercial up-selling potential for these accounts, thus growing a healthy - book of business- . As you- d expect, responsibilities include:
- Taking responsibility for end-end sales processes; research target opportunities, initiate discussions, manage sales processes and close deals. You- ll originate a significant percentage of your leads through your proactive networking, email and phone prospecting and industry referrals etc.
- Forecast accurately and develop a necessary pipeline to meet/exceed quota.
- Work closely with the Executive team and our specialists to ensure client engagement and ultimately closure.
- Cross / up-selling client accounts are nurtured in order to maximize commercial value. Acting as a main commercial contact, you- ll hold overall responsibility for account strategy, revenue protection/renewal, and revenue growth through up-selling (additional users, other desks/departments and for new products etc).
- Build US brand awareness, including industry event attendance, networking and speaking opportunities as appropriate.
- Gather and pass on information on the local market and client product needs to help us continually enhance our solutions.
Candidate Requirements:
- New business sales experience, selling to analysts within financial institutions (buy and/or sell side). Ability to prospect and build a pipeline, from identifying the right opportunities to gaining access to the right levels of and across financial institutions; influencing and building advocacy to create the conditions for sales.
- Experience selling either investment research technology/services/data and/or quantitative model building type tools would be very appropriate, together with a good understanding of fundamental research, model building, analyst workflows and common research tools and data requirements etc.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets; we are building a team of top sales performers and a great winning culture, so looking for people who share the same experience and values and together we can continue on our explosive growth path.
- Will have a great focus to build client relationships with a highly pro-active sales approach.
- Proven ability to be a self-starter and the ability to drive sales processes without close supervision.
- Energetic and creative individual, possessing natural curiosity with the ability to learn quickly and adapt.
- Reputation for consistently delivering results and setting the example for work ethic, initiative, enthusiasm, and commitment.
- Strong ability to develop instant rapport with new people, and to maintain relationships, combined with a positive, outgoing personality.
- Outstanding oral, written and presentation skills, able to distill and explain complex issues in simple terms.
- Able to comfortably communicate at both senior C level executive and analyst levels.
- Existing network of relevant contacts would be extremely helpful but is not a requirement.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
