Team Leader - Sales - BFSI - Loan Vertical (5-7 yrs)
Job Summary :
The Retail Loans Team Lead will oversee the retail loans department, ensuring efficient processing, underwriting, and servicing of retail loan products. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and achieving business targets.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Team Management :
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of loan officers and support staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training and development opportunities.
- Ensure high levels of employee engagement and morale.
2. Loan Processing and Underwriting :
- Oversee the processing and underwriting of retail loan applications (e.g., personal loans, auto loans, home loans).
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of applications in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve loan applications within delegated authority limits.
3. Customer Interaction :
- Handle escalated customer queries and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, providing guidance and support throughout the loan process.
4. Compliance and Risk Management :
- Ensure all loan processing activities adhere to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Identify potential risks in loan applications and implement measures to mitigate them.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance.
5. Performance Management :
- Monitor team performance against targets and KPIs.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and service quality.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.
6. Process Improvement :
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure the team operates effectively.
7. Collaboration :
- Work closely with other departments, such as sales, credit risk, and compliance, to ensure seamless operations.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects as needed.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail lending, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Strong understanding of retail loan products, credit risk assessment, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and loan processing software.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Professional certification in finance or lending (e.g., Certified Lending Officer).
- Experience with digital loan processing platforms.
- Knowledge of the local market and customer base.
