JOB DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - (GeM Portal ) - AT NOIDA
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to manage and grow our presence on the GeM (Government e-Marketplace) portal for Smart Classroom products. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling government accounts, experience with GeM portal operations, and expertise in EdTech sales. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth sales processes, managing accounts, and driving sales growth within government channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- GeM Portal Management:
- Oversee and manage all activities on the GeM portal for smart classroom products.
- Ensure product listings are up-to-date, accurate, and optimized for government procurement processes.
- Account Handling:
- Manage key government accounts and build relationships with government departments and educational institutions.
- Address all account inquiries, provide product details, and facilitate smooth transactions.
- Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to promote smart classroom solutions through the GeM portal.
- Coordinate with internal teams (marketing, logistics) to meet government requirements and timelines.
- Tender & Bidding Management:
- Identify, monitor, and respond to relevant tenders and bids on the GeM portal.
- Prepare competitive proposals and negotiate terms to win contracts.
- Market Research:
- Research and analyze the government education sector and stay updated on policy changes or new opportunities for smart classroom products.
- Monitor and analyze competitors in the government procurement space.
- Sales Reporting & Targets:
- Track sales performance, meet or exceed sales targets for government accounts via the GeM portal.
- Prepare regular reports on sales, bidding activities, and account performance.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in account handling and managing government accounts, specifically through platforms like GeM.
- Previous experience in EdTech sales is preferred, particularly in smart classroom or educational technology products.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with GeM portal operations, tendering process, and government procurement procedures.
- Proficient in CRM tools, MS Office, and other sales management software.
- Communication & Negotiation:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with government officials, departments, and educational institutions.
- Excellent negotiation skills for handling government contracts and bids.
- Other Attributes:
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or EdTech related field.
- Understanding of government procurement policies and the education sector in India.
