Manager Store Operations
Location - Mysore, Mangalore, Guntur, Bangalore, Chennai
Reporting to V.P. OPERATIONS, Head - OPERATIONS AND ANY OTHER AUTHORISED PERSON DIVISION AND DEPARTMENT
The jobholder has nearly 50- 100 (approx) staff at the Store directly/indirectly reporting or liaising with him. He is responsible for the entire store. Decisions taken by the job holder or activities initiated by him/her will have a significant impact on the Store's turn over / staff morale and customer responses.
Responsible for achieving profitable sales a Manager - Operations needs to look at the following key areas:
1. Daily routine / Administration
2. Customer Service
3. Sales Figures
4. Planning
5. Staff
Essential qualities required:
1. Graduate from Institute of Hotel Management/Retail Management
2. Could also be a Graduate from a reputed University from any other discipline.
3. Working experience of at least five years in a retail showroom or in the Sales & Marketing Department of a consumer products company in a managerial capability
4. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must exhibit leadership qualities
5. The incumbent must be sociable, gregarious, energetic and must have a keen eye for detail.
Job responsibilities:
1. Ensure a high level of customer service
2. Ensure proper stocks are maintained.
3. Detailed Floor inspection.
4. Determine best sellers and poor sellers and drive upon a plan of action.
5. Ensure proper presentation and display of garments.
6. Ensure promotional articles/materials are displayed efficiently.
7. To ensure that the Visual Merchandising in the Store is as per guidelines
8. Ensure that Store operations are carried out to comply with both Company Policy and all relevant legal requirements.
9. To plan ways to prevent shrinkage and shoplifting.
10. To prevent shrinkage through effective control of stocks and adherence to all company policies.
11. Control Store expenses to achieve and improve budgeted operational expenditure.
12. Bear in mind Wage cost ratio whilst optimizing sales Staff to maximize Customer Satisfaction
13. To give approval for exchange and return of Sales.
14. Motivate subordinators to work better and improve individual effectiveness and overall performance.
15. To ensure that daily store opening/closing procedures are properly followed.
16. Monitor trading activity to identify improvements to merchandise display to maximize sales potential.
17. To monitor daily sales to ensure sales are on target with the budget.
18. To plan layouts and moves within the departments depending on new lines and seasons.
19. Is responsible for Store stock reconciliation and be accountable for stock in his/her Store.
20. To inspect and ensure cleanliness of staff rooms.
21. Responsible for upkeep of the shop floor, stock room, bins, fixtures, till points.
22. The jobholder is responsible for the maintenance of his/her Store, namely housekeeping, electrical fixtures/fittings, trial room, tills, and toilets.
23. The job holder is responsible for ensuring that all departments are well laid out, the merchandise is properly presented in the correct ratios on correct hangers with the right size sticker with appropriate signage, where required.
24. To ensure that the merchandise on the floor has the correct printed price stickers.
25. To ensure that the bin cards in the stock room pertaining to the various departments are properly maintained.
26. To impart product, customer service and till training to new sales associates.
27. To ensure that staff is properly groomed.
28. To enforce discipline in the Store and report matters of indiscipline to the higher authorities.
29. To control Security, Housekeeping, Valet, Coffee Shop, Gift Wrapping, Tailor, Ironing and any other external agency/contractor.
30. To ensure effective control over the cash Office operations and general administration.
31. Carry out weekly checks on all statutory records, Cash Office records and cash.
32. To ensure that all reports required at the Head Office are sent on time and as per required formats.
33. To ensure recovery of all till discrepancies.
34. To report all accidents and incidents at the Store to the Operations Department.
35. To aid in the process of recruitment of Sales Associates by short-listing candidates.
36. To set high standards of integrity and quality and efficiency of work by example.
37. To be responsible for health & safety of the Store.
38. Take comparative feedback of prices from other major Stores.
39. Ensure that weekly staff meetings are conducted.
40. To ensure strict compliance of the store Weekly
41. To carryout all other duties ancillary and incidental thereto as well as other duties assigned from time to time
