Spark Capital - Research Associate (2-4 yrs)
We are looking for a sell side analyst with 2+ years of experience with sell side or a buy side firm. The sell side analyst will recommend promising investment idea.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust quantitative skill set complemented by a range of qualitative abilities, enabling them to effectively communicate their research both in writing and verbally. This individual will report directly to a lead. Additionally, we are seeking someone with the utmost level of ethical integrity.
Preference will be given to experienced candidate in small and mid-cap research.
Responsibilities :
- Work on all/ any aspect of research : research planning, primary research, secondary research, quality checking across a variety of market capitalizations and industries Interpreting all the content, statistics and presenting it in a research report.
- Provide efficiency by improving existing processes and steps for analysis support research teams for productive results.
- Evaluates financial data for assigned sectors/segments and stay abreast of emerging economic trends and developments in stock markets.
- Generate new investment ideas as a supplement to central research coverage.
- Adapt with the industry structure and change the approach for the research depending upon the sector and the geography.
- Should be good with MS Office (Excel, Valuation)
- Should be good in communication and writing skills
Preferred Person Specifications :
- 2+ years of research analyst experience with proven track records in achieving performance metrics and targets. Should have experience as a bottom-up analyst for at least 3-4 years in small and mid-cap segment
- Experience in relevant industry preferred
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with hands on experience in rigorous financial markets analysis
- Ability to apply thoughts and timely realization of investment opportunities with solid decisioning abilities.
- Good collaboration and individual contribution skills
- Excellent communication with articulation to wider audiences.
- Education qualifications preferred MBA and/or CFA, not compulsory
- We are open to looking at candidates from:
- Small Sell-Side firms or Family Offices that are keen to move to sell/more formal set-up
- Rating agencies or out-sourced research firms that are keen to move to sell-side
