SPAG FINN - Senior Account Executive - Public Relations (2-4 yrs)
The role of the Sr. Account Executive is to implement PR plans and deliver results for client campaigns. A Sr. Account
Executive should be proficient at working with the media and client and be able to develop basic communications material.
In addition, he or she should be able to demonstrate consulting skills - be able to execute PR plans and adapting plans to evolving client needs and resolving client issues with support from the Associate Account Manager/ Account Manager.
Research and Reporting :
- Organize and manage client and industry related media coverage in an efficient manner, so that it can be referred to and presented quickly and efficiently when needed
- Undertake team reporting for work completed on a regular basis, or as required by the overall team in a timely, organized and factual manner
- Undertake research proficiently to address team needs. This includes research on technology, industry trends, company information, or relevant industry events etc. Familiarity with web-based research
Documentation & Content creation :
- Be able to prepare high quality documents:
Final drafts of: Press releases, background notes, fact sheets, story pitches, media Q&As, company backgrounders, product information sheets, spokesperson biographies
First drafts of: Opinion articles, client briefing documents, executive speeches, executive presentations
- Develop a media plan to support key engagement activities within the overall PR plan. Be able to suggest the right media combination based on an understanding of client objectives, feasibility of coverage and other key factors
- Work well with Microsoft Office Power Point - using the tool to create professional presentations
- Communicate proficiently in the English language
(beyond Google) and applications like Meltwaters is a basic requirement. Should also be able to conduct interviews in person or via the telephone if required
- Understand the specific research requirements for new business pitches, and undertake research accordingly
Media Relations :
- Create accurate and relevant media lists for specific events or other engagement activities
- Generate coverage for press releases and sell complex feature stories with support and guidance from the AAM or Account Manager
- Manage all media related activities of a press event - including ideation and execution
- Demonstrate an understanding of media trends that effect client campaigns, and consult to clients on a regular basis accordingly
- Understand how the media works, and accordingly use the right tactic for delivering results for clients
- Have a deep understanding of the trade media related to a client, and have in-depth relationships with representatives
- Have strong relationships with junior to mid-level representatives across all key media relevant to specific clients
People Management :
- Guide Account Coordinators and Account Executives on own team formally, and others across the organization informally
- Ask relevant questions to obtain the right brief from team members / clients and ensure high quality execution of any task
- Manage own time to complete tasks and produce high quality work in a timely manner
- Predict potential issues related to own work and commitments in a timely manner
- Work with HR to manage own PDP, ensuring that feedback meetings and reviews happen on time, and that PDP commitments are fulfilled
- Actively participate in cross company initiatives that support the growth of the organization
- Participate in training and development initiatives as required to acquire the required skills
- Manage direct reports in accordance with SPAG's brand values and culture
Client Management & Consulting :
- Liaise with clients effectively and promptly revert on queries. Inspire their confidence and trust, demonstrating that you understand the markets in which they operate
- Build and demonstrate knowledge of a client's industry
- Stay informed of all issues/opportunities pertaining to clients by monitoring all media channels
