Senior Manager - Buying/Merchandising - FMCG (10-15 yrs)
Scope of the role :
- Manage all Buying, Merchandising and Replenishment for the region (GOA) and ensure the Top line and Bottom line goals are met consistently.
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Manage all parameters that impact the P&L and operating margins, through effective buying & merchandising strategy, controlling COGS, stock churn, sampling, promotions, marketing activities, selling banner space, negotiating trade terms with vendors etc.
- Manage buying and merchandising for all product categories across all stores
- Do a periodic analysis and rationalization of product portfolios and assortments
- Ensure stock availability and replenishment for all categories
- Identify, develop and manage relationships with key vendors for the region
- Actively manage inventory with a defined strategy for stock churn, reorder and liquidation cycles across all product categories and stores
- Forecast Demand and effectively manage replenishment across all stores & DC by defining MBQ and Vendor Fill Rate
- Ensure Out of Stock (OOS) items doesn- t exceed the defined GNB norms
- Actively manage the ordering process with due focus on the TOP - X- products
- Define and implement strategy to limit/ liquidate Damage & Expiry (DNE) stocks
- Drive sales (NOB) with periodic promotions, new launches, festival program/decks, supplier engagement, celebration and limited offers.
- Visit stores periodically and actively look at identifying other revenue generation opportunities for achieving the planned targets
- Work with planogramming team to optimize shelf space as per the store size and plan the merchandising accordingly
- Manage customer complaints and ensure prompt response and resolution
- Analyze and track key ratios on a weekly/monthly basis like Order Planned vs. Delivered; Sales Target vs. Achieved etc.
Key Deliverables :
- Control the COGS as per the planned targets
- Maintain Stock Availability and Fill Rates as per the defined targets
- Active Inventory and Order Management for Top - X- articles
- Keep Damage & Expiry (DNE) & Out-of-Stock (OOS) below planned percentages
- Monitor the KPIs and target achievements of the team members.
