Regional Sales Manager - FMCD (10-20 yrs)
Position : Regional Sales Manager (RSM) South based at Coimbatore.
The position reports to Director, Sales & Marketing.
Responsibilities
This is a senior position in the organisation and has total responsibility for manging sales function for the 6 southern states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Pondicherry, AP and Telangana. The role demands proven ability in managing sales force and distribution management which in turn calls for keen planning and implementation skills in a dynamic and highly competitive market environment. The role calls for high coordination skills with Plant Heads across South India and Marketing /Product Managers at the corporate office.
Responsibilities include introduction of new articles through collection of market intelligence and systematic analysis of data and information from the field. The position also will assist and coordinate with New Product Development team in the conduct of trials for improving existing articles and achieve targeted number of new articles.
Specific responsibilities:
- Support Director (Sales & Marketing) and Marketing Manager in working out long term strategic marketing & sales strategies for the territory.
- Prepare and implement annual Sales Budgets.
- Ensure the required width of distribution to achieve the annual sales plan by appointing the required number of dealers.
- Implement the agreed credit policy both in terms of period of credit (number of days) and value of debtors (Rs Lakhs).
- Monthly forecasting of sales for the Region in coordination with Area Sales Managers at State level to enable central planning department to ensure on time deliveries to dealers and distribution points.
- Conduct monthly performance review of ASM/CSM.
- Give inputs on formulation of schemes for the concerned region on the basis of analysis of consumer behaviour in the region.
- Planning, implementing and review of promotional schemes.
- Ensure targeted outcomes from promotional schemes.
- Assist in recruiting,training,supervising and evaluating department staff.
- Keep the motivational levels of Field staff and dealers high.
Person specification:
- Graduate / Post graduate preferably with MBA from an institute of repute
- Age 35 to 40 years with 10 to 15 years of experience managing the sales function in an Indian FMCG company preferably in footwear sector.
- Comprehensive sales function knowledge coupled with high need for achievement.
- Ability to effectively manage hands-on salesmen involved in bazar selling.
- Shows a high degree of common sense, customer focus and results orientation.
- Strong leader with excellent verbal and written communication skills as also interpersonal skills.
- Strong team orientation and ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
