Regional Sales Manager - Automotive/Manufacturing Firm (10-13 yrs)
1. Role :
a. Responsible for regional sales in Thailand manufacturing industries, both local as well as transplants from Global manufacturing companies operating in Thailand
i. The customer base is mainly Automotive OEMs and supply chains (Tier 1 components), and similar manufacturers of Engineering products like Engines Motors, Pumps, hydraulics, etc.. Prior working experience in these domains is essential.
ii. The business domain is Capital Equipment sales, therefore knowledge of the industry, the equipment being sold, and experience in B2B sales process is essential.
iii. Local language and culture strengths for operating in Thailand is a must
b. Responsible to lead the regional sales and projects teams to engage with the development of business with customers, as well as developing new customers
i. Prior experience in leading / managing at least 1-2 people teams for sales objectives is desirable
c. Responsible for collaboration with the back-end sales and proposal engineering teams in India, to align the customer needs/RFQs, sales strategy, facilitate communications with customer to develop winning solution as per the sales strategy, and ensure execution of sales strategy through presentations and sales push.
i. Multi organization collaboration experience is an advantage
2. Reporting :
a. This position reports to the Sales Head in India based HQ
b. Regional Sales Engineers, Regional Project Engineers, and Regional Service Engineers report to this position
3. Expected Qualifications & Experience :
a. An engineering degree / diploma in Mechanical / Production / Industrial or Electrical engineering
b. Local language proficiency - either through local residence or education for more than 10 years, or through standardized language tests
c. English language proficiency - either through English language education for more than 10 years, or qualification through standardized language tests
d. At least 10 years experience in working with manufacturing / industrial domains,
e. At least 7 years experience in Sales
f. At least 5 years experience in relevant Customers & capital equipment sales
g. At least 3 years of sales management experience leading a team of at least 1 sales / service engineer(s)
h. Multi-organization collaboration experience (like EPC / System Integration Project Sales) / regional sales for Global Equipment Manufacturer will be an added advantage.
4. Suggested Selection Process :
a. Resume screening - broadly to above criteria at least to 50% match by local recruiters
b. Resume Filtering - from the screened resumes - by India team for on-line quantitative testing
c. Functional Interview - with functional managers from India - On-line
d. Final In person Interview - with Management team
