Radio Mirchi - Creative Head (6-10 yrs)
Title - Creative Head-Gujarat
Purpose of the job : Manage the sound-scape of the station through appropriate process and system interventions and resource optimization.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Primary responsibilities :
- RCS RELATED
- Selector Management
- Playlist Management
- (Weekly) Monitoring of Policies, Clocks, Rotational patterns, etc.
- Scheduling and Checking Log (includes all manual over-rides and insertions)
- Linker Management - Packaging elements such as program promos, channel promos, program bumpers, sweepers, liners, etc.
- Airwaves Integration
- Housekeeping
- Trouble Shooting
- PRODUCTION RELATED
- Supervising the creative and quality of Program Promos / Channel Promos and other packaging elements.
- Supervising the creative and quality of client jingles / ads / spots / promos, etc. as well as pre-emptive jingles / ads.
- Interfacing with Sales and Marketing everyday to receive and approve creative / client briefs for ads or promotions / contests, etc. and ensure execution of all that's discussed.
- Supervising the creative and quality of all event promotions / in-house brand promotions / on air contests etc.
- Complete quality check of all Program pilots and scratches.
- Total Contest management
- Interviews / Sound-bytes - Loading / Cleaning / Editing / Transferring / Uploading.
- New / Regular Pre-Produced Programs - Conception to Supervising Execution, Quality check, recommend changes, review, finalize.
- ADMN RELATED
- Correspondence - Inter Station / Corporate / Inter-departmental / Collegues & Staff / Outsiders (Celebs,etc.).
- Guest Relations & PR - Developing networking with local VIPs / CIPs / Socialites / Senior Government Officers / Bureaucrats / Celebs / Other related people.
- Meeting with Visitors - Talents / Celebs / Clients / Guests / etc.
- Preparing Rosters - For Studio time sharing / Production schedule / Promo producers duty chart / RJ duty roster / Staff activity chart / etc.
- Absenteeism management
- MIS and Reports (Mostly monthly)
- Conduct Team Meetings
- HR RELATED
- Creating a highly result oriented work environment and culture.
- Constantly motivating the team through regular meetings, one-on-ones, feedback, suggestions, rewards, etc.
- Check attrition
- Talent retention, encouragement and growth.
- Constantly have a pulse of the inter-personnel and group dynamics.
- Conflict Management - Inter-personnel trouble shooting.
- Discipline management and compliance to set guidelines
- Induction and Training - Training for the newly recruited, as well as refreshers for the old hands.
- Talent scouting and Recruitment
- QC RELATED AND IDEATION
- Air-Checks
- On-Air monitoring of own channel
- Monitoring / Reviewing Show Prep with each RJ
- Going through script pointers
- Discussing, value adds
- Allocate a show closing time
- Competition Monitoring
- Review / Analysis / Evaluation of Production pieces (promos / ads / scratches/ programs / interviews / sound-bytes / packaging elements / etc.). Recommend improvements and review / analyze / evaluate consequent changes and provide feedback.
- IDEATION - This is perhaps THE MOST CRITICAL function that the PH executes. All Station Programming Heads must therefore spend substantial part of their day in ideating on-
- New programmes / FPC
- BTM - Big Ticket of the Month
- New Promos / Stationality and their turnover
- On Air Specials
- New properties with quick turn over
- Contests & Game Shows
- Cume enhancing activities
- TSL enhancing activities
- Programming led ground events
- In this connection it must be remembered that just like, an actor is said to be only as good as his last film, a journalist is only as good as his last story, similarly, a PH is only as good as his last creative piece.
- BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RELATED
- Focus on ad revenue generation through creative assistance
- Contributing to copywriting, selling and production of commercials
- Providing creative alternatives and innovative solutions that help generate and boost ad spend.
- Suggest alternate programming driven routes to bring in business from conservative clients or dissonant products (paints, photograph films) not conventionally advertising on radio.
