PETA - Fund Raising Manager (3-10 yrs)
- Manage and develop the fundraising strategy for current and prospective major and legacy donors, using direct mail, events, and donor cultivation and solicitation meetings
- Identify and research cases for giving for targeted donors
- Identify prospective major and planned giving donors from outside PETA affiliates- current donor bases, and develop cultivation and solicitation strategies for these prospects
- Identify trusts and foundations for potential funding opportunities, and cultivate relationships with key staff
- Solicit major financial donations, including both annual and planned gifts, from targeted donors through face-to-face meetings and related fundraising techniques
- Maintain regular contact with specific groups of donors, and act as a professional contact for them
- Document pertinent information for the purpose of enhancing and developing donor profiles, and ensure the database is current, with all donor activity recorded
- Prepare annual division budgets, regular reports, and special analysis, as needed
- Accurately collect and analyse pertinent data on the organisations fundraising and programme efforts, and regularly report the results to PETA India senior staff and the director of international response fundraising as well as PETA US and PETA UK staff
- Manage and attend cultivation, retention, and solicitation events for members and supporters throughout India, including donor-hosted events, major donor meetings, and other special events, such as sanctuary visits and similar
- Coordinate additional event components, including attendance, materials and mailings (e.g. invitations, sponsorship forms, programmes, and thank-you letters), auctions, entertainment, awards, handouts, and gift bags
- Recruit volunteers and solicit in-kind contributions of goods and services for events
- Cultivate and manage relationships with potential corporate partners and donors
- Develop a working knowledge of all planned giving techniques
- Manage relationships with vendors, including printers, mail houses, database consultants, and event-related companies and consultants
- Stay up to date on current fundraising methods used in the non-profit sector that are particular to the Indian market, and attend professional training seminars
- Stay current on animal rights issues in general, and maintain a clear understanding of and ability to articulate the objectives and details of organisation programmes
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
