Pepper Content - Freelance - Content Editor (5-9 yrs)
We are looking for skilled and dedicated editors with proven experience in copy editing and proofreading quality-sensitive content. The ideal candidate working with Pepper in this position must have a strong command of English, substantial experience in copy editing and proofreading a wide variety of content, and the ability to manage a tight schedule without compromising on the quality of output.

On a typical day at Pepper, the editor will
1. Edit and proofread documents following the client's guidelines to match the highest standards of quality
2. Go through somewhere between 10- 15K words of content, depending on allocation strategies, from a variety of domains and formats and ensure the content pieces have followed client briefs and are factually and technically correct
3. Provide comprehensive feedback and suggestions to writers with a strong focus on timelines and quality
4. Optimize content through SEO best practices and ensure content is plagiarism-free by running documents through premium plagiarism detection software
5. Identify and flag articles that do not meet Pepper's quality standards
6. Collaborate on process, training, and resource creation within the editorial team
7. Actively engage in quality assurance and performance review processes
Work hours : Flexible
The ideal candidate must
1. Have excellent command over the English language and an eye for detail
2. Have at least 2 years of experience in content editing and proofreading documents from a variety of industries and domains
3. Have a thorough knowledge of copy editing and proofreading best practices
4. Have strong research and organizational skills
5. Be able to take up challenging and time-sensitive editorial tasks and deliver the same without compromising on quality
6. Be willing to learn independently and improve upon their skills by regular training and research
7. Be available to work for 5 -8 hours a day / 5 days a week on a contractual basis from any remote location
