The Community Manager in the Expert Network team is responsible for building relationships and communication channels between the Expert Network and various technology/developer communities worldwide. This role will work closely with Producers within the Expert Network villages - presently Microsoft and AI/Python -- to determine how best to establish Packt's presence within these communities and then initiate constructive engagement that not only presents a captive audience for Expert Network books and authors, but also provides the Expert Network team valuable insights into what these communities value, how they prefer to be engaged, and what topics are of importance to these communities. In addition, this role will be responsible for announcing new titles via social media, setting up promotional contests and book giveaways, and establishing relationships with conference organizers for the purpose of further community engagement and creating buzz for Expert Network books and authors.

The role will include the following activities :

- Building relationships with influencers and top professionals within the Data Science, AI, Python, and Microsoft communities

- Developing and nurturing partnerships (.NET Meetups etc) that will drive our Packt presence in the Microsoft, Data Science AI, and Python communities

- Building rapport with Microsoft conference organizers for becoming a sponsor and check author speaking opportunities

Responsibilities : 

You will work with the Producers, Authors, and the Expert Network Marketing Team, as well as other key stakeholders, to produce or curate the following assets for each title across the lifecycle of the project :

- Post book announcements and other relevant content on your personal social media platforms for each title we publish.

- Coordinate book giveaways and contests with authors and other third-party sites when and as needed.

- Report back to Producers on industry trends to assist in their book acquisition strategies

- Serve as a brand representative for the Expert Network (and Packt in general) to respective technology communities

- Keep an eye on Amazon reviews as a check on community response to the quality of the titles the Expert Network publishes

- Participate in author calls and maintain regular communication with our authors on all community-facing activities related to their books.

- Engage with conference organizers and, as needed, host content pieces on their blogs or websites
