About the Role
As our Head of Sales, you'll be the driving force behind Optimite's growth, leading sales strategy, scaling revenue, and building lasting client relationships. Ready to help us conquer the ecommerce world? Here's your game plan:
Sales Strategy (40%): Shape and execute sales strategies that resonate with Shopify's elite.
Lead Generation (30%): Connect with ecommerce brands looking for email marketing experts.
Team Building (30%): Build and empower a stellar sales team to scale our impact.
What will you do?
Sales Strategy (40%)
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy targeting ecommerce businesses in need of email marketing expertise.
- Identify and prioritize high-value market segments, aligning efforts with Optimite's Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs).
- Own the sales pipeline from prospecting to deal closure, ensuring consistent growth and revenue targets are met.
- Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of sales initiatives and make data-driven adjustments.
Metrics you'll own :
Pipeline Velocity : Speed at which leads progress through the funnel.
Conversion Rate : Percentage of leads converted into clients.
Revenue Growth : Total revenue from closed deals.
Lead Generation & Outreach (30%) :
- Design and execute scalable lead generation strategies, including cold outreach, partnerships, and account-based selling.
- Craft and personalize outreach messaging to connect with high-value prospects effectively.
- Collaborate with account managers to ensure seamless client onboarding and retention after deal closure.
Metrics you'll own :
Lead Generation Volume: Number of qualified leads generated monthly.
Outbound Response Rates: Engagement metrics for email and LinkedIn outreach campaigns.
Client Acquisition Costs (CAC): Efficiency of lead generation and deal closure efforts.
Team Building & Enablement (30%)
- Lay the groundwork for Optimite's sales team by identifying skill gaps, defining roles, and recruiting top talent as the department scales.
- Implement CRM systems and tools to streamline workflows and improve sales efficiency.
- Create training programs and sales playbooks to enable future team members to excel in their roles.
- Foster a collaborative culture by working closely with other departments to align sales efforts with broader company goals.
Metrics you'll own:
Sales Team Onboarding Time: Efficiency in training and enabling new hires.
Tool Adoption Rate: Percentage of team members effectively using CRM and sales tools.
Team Productivity: Sales performance metrics per team member.
Must Have :
- Proven track record of surpassing sales targets, preferably within the ecommerce or SaaS sectors.
- Strong understanding of outbound lead generation strategies and tools.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with experience managing client relationships.
- Ability to work with data and analytics to refine strategies and measure success.
- Experience implementing CRM systems and sales processes.
Good to Have :
- Background in email marketing or ecommerce sales.
- Familiarity with Shopify and Klaviyo ecosystems.
- Prior experience building and scaling a sales team in a startup or agency environment.
- Knowledge of account-based selling and partnership-building strategies.
