Mumbai Angels - Associate - Business Development (1-5 yrs)
A Business Development Associate is the first point of contact for an HNI looking to invest in startups. The role would involve engaging and onboarding them as an investor into the Mumbai Angel Network.
This will involve actively finding potential investors, convert them into members of the network and then engaging with them to ensure they invest in startups that the network showcases. This is a business development and sales role.
Business Development & Sales
- Create a pipeline of potential investors who are looking to invest in startups and do this by joining a network rather than by themselves
- Grow the investor member base on a monthly basis
- Call/Mail/Meet potential members and orient them about startup investing as an investment option, and why they should join Mumbai Angels
- Attend/Participate in events across the city to represent the network, bring in members and bring high-quality startups to the network
Relationship Management
- Ensure the members of the network invest in startups shown to them - Maintain a thorough understanding of each investor's sector preferences - Ensure member engagement through monitoring attendance in events, investments made, etc.
- Work closely with angel members and internal deal team to ensure smooth negotiations and closing of investments
- Work closely with portfolio companies for follow-up funding rounds and industry assistance as well as exit assistance for investors
- Work closely with ecosystem players (Incubators, Accelerators, Funds) to ensure increasing presence in the city
Job Requirements:
- Preferred experience in Wealth Management companies or any investment advisory services to HNIs.
- Previous experience in pitching products/services to HNIs, CXOs, etc. - Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in an unstructured environment and manage multiple stakeholders - Undergraduate degree in Business, Management, Finance or comparable - Exposure to working in a startup environment is a strong plus
- Entrepreneurial attitude with multi-tasking capabilities
