MiStay - Product Marketing Specialist (2-6 yrs)

What is the larger purpose and impact of this role?


Flexible hotel booking is an entirely new phenomenon with very few people being aware of this concept, even though most travelers have faced the problem with rigid full-day booking. Especially in India, where the concept suffers from taboo & stigma associated with the concept, bringing behavior change in travelers so that - pay for the hours you stay- becomes the norm and - full-day bookings- become history will be extraordinarily challenging task.

Product Marketing Strategist will be responsible for driving the growth of MiStay and scaling the traffic, by understanding the traffic funnel, optimizing existing growth channels & identifying new growth channels

What would be my responsibilities?

1. Grow organic traffic by Search Engine Optimization : Own the traffic-related goals as per projections and drive growth

- Keyword research & competitive analysis to prepare SEO plan & strategy, continuously monitor the ranking of target keywords against competitors

- Work with content writing interns/ freelancers to generate required content for SEO

- Plan & execute strategy for back-linking by working with partners

2. Conversion funnel optimization & growth of existing channels : Continuously monitor & analyze the complete booking conversion funnel across all organic or inorganic channels, identify reasons for drop-off/ inefficiencies, and work cross-functionally to optimize the funnel.

- Data Analysis: Analyze the booking data, hotel data, traffic data, conversion data, etc and work with the tech/ operations/ business development teams to optimize conversion across channels

- Paid campaign monitoring: Monitor and analyze the performance/ effectiveness of paid campaigns across channels, such as Adwords

- Retention/ Engagement : Analyse & manage the effectiveness of CRM campaigns, loyalty programs, referral programs, mobile notification strategy, etc.

3. Experimentation across new channels: Identify and experiment with various new marketing channels such as new partnerships identification for cross-marketing, campus ambassador programs, PR, offline marketing, etc. Come up with new ideas/ initiatives for experimental campaigns, execute and scale the channels that give good result

What type of candidate will succeed in this role ?

- 2-6 years of relevant experience with exposure to diverse forms of digital marketing in a fast-paced consumer start-up would be preferred. The key competencies required include:

- Knowledge/ Experience : Understanding of SEO & basic understanding of various forms of marketing. Ability to quickly learn new concepts/ forms of marketing.

- Analytical : Ability to think critically, break down broader goals into an action plan, analyze various forms of data to derive insights

- Product thinking & Growth mindset : Aptitude to continuously evaluate the product, experiment, and identify ways to achieve the growth goals

- Leadership : Ability to communicate effectively, work with agencies/freelancers/ cross-functional teams, and get things done
