Job overview
- To manage sales activities and events inline with the annual sales and marketing plan and to achieve/exceed budget and sales strategy for your hotel.

Duties and responsibilities
- Works with Manager in the preparation and management of the Department's budget
- Sells to new, existing and prospective customers considering goals set forth in the sales strategy, negotiating optimum rate for the benefit of the business
- Assesses sales and marketing data
- Assists in the evaluation of sales and marketing activities
- Execute advertising/creative briefs in a timely manner
- Monitors local competitors and compare their operation with his/her operation
- Keeps aware of trends, systems, practices and equipment in audio visual through trade literature, hotel show and site visits
- Provides direction on and conducts market research
- Implement direction from Director of Sales and Marketing
- Travel when required to promote the hotel and develop potential business
- Liaise with Reservations for space allocation and priority
- Conducts sales visits, telephone calls, writes letters, sends emails and extends invitations to clients to visit the hotel
- Entertain clients with the object to secure business or strengthen ties when required
- Follows up on all enquiries
- Work with advertising agencies, consulting firms, and vendors to maximise advertising investments and ensure ads represent brand identity.
- Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community
Accountability
- This is the top sales and marketing job in a full or limited-service hotel and may include meeting space and or catering facilities. May manage professional level and administrative sales team members.
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor's degree / higher education qualification / equivalent
- 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
