About the Role : 

We are searching for a skillful speech writer to craft speeches and narrative briefs for our clients.

The speech writer's responsibilities will include preparing speeches suited to the audience and platform, completing revisions according to internal feedback, and meeting all deadlines. They should be able to analyze the voice and tone of the speaker and prepare a speech best suited to them. They must also be detail-oriented and have excellent research skills.

Selected candidates will report to the communications head and will be based out of our Hyderabad office. Candidates must be open to long hours during peak campaign timings.

Responsibilities : 

Content creation : Consume briefs and develop speeches and narrative briefs with a high degree of care towards structure, points of emphasis, punchlines, content, and overall style. Quickly grasp political & policy-related subjects and craft politically succinct speeches and briefs with the audience in mind.

Collaboration : Collaborate with various teams across the organisation to assess content needs. Work closely with the campaign and political intelligence units of the organisation to understand scripting guidelines and develop comprehensive yet clear messaging.

Expand knowledge base : Conduct research to obtain interesting facts and statistics that can be used in the speech. Listen to and analyse different speakers and speeches to learn about different styles and emerging trends

Assessment and optimisation : Evaluate the efficacy and reception of the speech by constantly understanding the target audience. Ensure that the speech is conversational and that the objectives are clear to the audience.

Desired Qualifications and experience : 

- Political acumen and understanding of local culture, geography, and political landscape

- Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, literature, communications, creative writing, or a similar discipline

- A master's degree is preferable

- 4+ years of working experience in creating copy with application of excellent creative thinking and writing skills

- Excellent research and analytical skills with a good understanding of public speaking.

- Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with short turnaround times

- Language proficiency in Telugu will be an added bonus
