Position: Manager - Direct Admission (Counselling)

Overview:

- At upGrad Abroad, we're on a mission to redefine the landscape of international education.

- We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager for Direct Admission Counselling to join our team.

- This role is pivotal in guiding and developing a large team of counsellors, ensuring they provide top-notch advice and support to students aspiring to study abroad.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Development:

- Lead a team of 25-30 study abroad counsellors, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

- Monitor team performance, set clear goals, and provide regular feedback and coaching.

- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the counselling team's skills and knowledge.

Counselling and Advising:

- Offer expert knowledge on higher education opportunities in key destinations like the UK, USA, Australia, and Canada.

- Understand and address the diverse needs of students, providing tailored advice on courses, universities, and career paths.

Strategy and Operations:

- Design and implement effective counselling strategies to maximize student satisfaction and success.

- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the counselling department, including resource allocation and workflow management.

Stakeholder Engagement:

- Collaborate with other departments to align counselling services with the broader objectives of upGrad Abroad.

- Represent the counselling team in organizational meetings, providing insights and updates.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in study abroad counselling.

- At least 2 years of experience in managing a team of counsellors.

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counselling, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

- In-depth knowledge of international education systems, particularly in the UK, USA, Australia, and Canada.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
