Manager - Public Relations (Corporate)

- You will be part of the Corporate Public Affairs leadership team and report to the Sr. Management team for Sustainability and Legal Affairs.

- Manage a portfolio of relevant policy issues related to environment & sustainability as well as economic development

- Build and manage relationships with national and state government officials and agencies, policy makers and their key influences

- Lead the development and execution of public affairs and advocacy initiatives to support Co's Business

- Advise, support and closely collaborate with the Co's India leadership team on all Public Affairs matters.

- Develop and lead implementation of a public affairs plan for India to engage with the policy environment; position Co's as partner and solution provider in areas critical for securing business continuity and growth and prevent punitive regulation and government rulings

- Proactively monitor national and state policy and regulatory developments, emerging trends, and other political or public issues with potential business impacts; propose response strategies; ensure risks are managed and opportunities assessed

- Ensure measurable deliverables and metrics and aligned within the Communications function and the cluster/country leadership.

- Lead/coordinate advocacy campaigns and external positioning with government bodies and policy stakeholders; identify external opportunities and platforms to strategically deploy thought leadership (on circular economy and food safety)

- Secure stakeholder support and build alliances with industry partners and/or NGOs; represent Co's in trade associations and stakeholder platforms, leveraging existing opportunities or creating new ones, and mobilizing resources.

- Ensure we build and manage relationships with key policy stakeholders as well as coalitions with competitors/industry, NGOs and other influencers, secure representation in key industry associations and networks.

- Build / enhance capabilities within local team engaged in advocacy, ensure adequate external support

- Active participation in corporate PA leadership team, ensure proper communication, alignment and coordination internal and external Communications

Qualification And Experience :

1. Bachelor Degree required. Advanced Degree in public policy, international affairs, political science, land/or similar preferred.

2. Min 10 year of related professional/Public Affairs experience gained in India in a similar role in a multinational company, Public Affairs firm, international organisation or industry association; preferably related to the food, beverage or packaging industry

3. Significant experience in public affairs, government affairs, environment, sustainability, food and consumer health policy issues; leading advocacy campaigns and working in cross-functional team and business leaders.

4. Exceptional understanding of role of public affairs in driving business goals;

5. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective, innovative and practical public affairs solutions and comprehensive plans that deliver results;

6. Highly skilled at anticipating, identifying, and addressing emerging issues and related risks that could impact Co's business

7. Strong grasp of the policymaking process in India at national, state and local level, including the ability to identify emerging issues and opportunities, and to develop and implement measurable tactical plans.

8. Recognized as a creative and independent thinker who clearly articulates public policy ideas and is able to develop solutions the lead to workable regulatory outcomes for Organisation.

9. Proven experience in developing and driving advocacy campaigns with measurable results

10. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, strong team player, culturally sensitive, diplomacy and tact

11. Strong ability to build relationships and use influence with key constituencies

12. Established track record of collaboration and coalition building in complex environments.

13. Demonstrated ability to succinctly convey relevant information at the right time and with the proper context and seek input as needed

14. Outstanding oral and written communications skills

15. Well organized, highly motivated, creative and analytical problem solver

16. Demonstrated the ability to manage change, operate with ease in a dynamic environment and in navigating ambiguity to drive decisions
