Manager - Business Development - Travel (5-6 yrs)
Job Purpose :
- The role of the Business Development Manager - South India is to generate and increase agency sales and build relationships with travel agents across South India.
- The position will convert sales by identifying the clients and travel agents needs through engaged, interactive relationship development and constant sales calls.
- The BDM will need to be organized and have strong follow-up skills in order to smoothly transition all queries into bookings.
Job Responsibilities :
- Generating and increasing sales by interacting and building relationships with travel agents across South India through constant sales calls, email communications and follow-ups.
- Educating the travel trade on our products and promotions, and generating and increasing sales of GFOB travel packages.
- Primary responsible for all leads to be converted to bookings.
- Reaching and exceeding sales objectives by converting prospects into sales with proactive follow-ups with the agent.
- Providing support and inputs on developing marketing plans to increase market share.
- Developing business relationships and fostering a spirit of cooperation with GVI departments as needed to serve the needs of travel agents/customers.
- Answering primarily agent inquiries by maintaining knowledge of key differences, promotional offers, marketing campaigns, product knowledge, and destination expertise.
- Cultivating relationships with travel agents and influencing product loyalty.
- Ensuring assigned agents receive accurate, timely, and quality information about the products we supply, overcoming objections by researching, evaluating, resolving or escalating as needed.
- Preparation of weekly marketing reports for South India on marketing activities, market conditions, pricing, direction, competition, and distribution etc.
- Representing the company in trade-shows and joint marketing activities with various partners in various markets.
- Exploring marketing opportunities for the company on a national as well as regional level to promote Globus Family of Brands Ltd brands with outside companies.
- Developing training presentations for on-site support for the GSA's and conducting trainings and presentations to travel agents regularly.
- Updating and collating and following up with necessary action on MIS reports on GSA performance, outstanding payments etc.
- Traveling around the countries, primarily the four southern states, for focussed sales calls.
- Contributing to a team effort by accomplishing related results or projects as needed.
- Handling special projects as assigned through detailed program knowledge and interpersonaskills.
Key Skills:
- Demonstrated business development and sales experience
- Strong written and verbal skills to support friendly and interactive communication.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skill to mine and maximize every available opportunity.
- A minimum of five to six years of experience in a sales capacity
- Leisure travel product knowledge, specifically GFOB products, services, features, and benefits.
- Demonstrating the importance of service in retaining customer loyalty.
- Building client/customer relationships.
- Technical and functional skills using a variety of computer applications like Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel etc.
- Worked preferably in the travel industry having handled similar profiles earlier.
- Excellent communication skills

Relevant Experience: 6 years
