Manager - Business Development - Marine/Diesel Engine Manufacturing Firm (6-15 yrs)
A reputed manufacturing company is hiring for Manager - Business Development (Marine) having good exposure Marine Engines and Diesel Engines.
Qualification - BE Mechanical/ Electrical (Full time)
Job Responsibilities :
Business Development :
- Identify and close sales opportunities including client requirement gathering, scope analysis, preparation and submission of tenders, and techno-commercial discussions towards finalization of contracts
- Liaise with factory staff to obtain technical and costing information for customers
- Assist in preparing estimates by providing key technical knowledge of the client's requirements
- Represent the company at trade shows, presentations and meetings, and meet clients to present company and products
Contracts Management :
- Act as single point contact to ensure and provide high quality customer support
- Lead contracts execution (techno-commercial) for various shipyards, till completion including post-commissioning guarantee issues
- Coordinate with CPD (Central Planning dept.) for material receipt, manufacturing, third party stage inspections and dispatch
- Secure client (Shipyards/Indian Navy) approval for deviations in the contract in-line with the contract conditions
- Obtain stage payments of the contract as per the event completion
- Liaise and organize 3rd party inspection agencies (ABS, IRS, IN and Shipyards) and ensure their joint availability as per the schedule
- Follow up technical clearances and clear inspection report from 3rd party agencies to maintain the billing schedule plan
- Liaise with customer/ Shipyard for receipt inspection activities and obtain the release of balance payments
- Settle final project accounts, including imports subsidies and tax benefits
- Appoint and engage 3rd party service providers, coordinate and control their activities, and provide operational support for site installation and commissioning
- Resolve customer technical/failure/supply issues pertaining to I & C activities, in liaison with internal QA, engineering, material team
- Demonstrate the performance of the equipment on-board during the sea trails
- Lead project reviews, and handle post commissioning guarantee issues and timely liquidate the same
Component Development :
- Project manager for development of bought out components for engine, auxiliaries, and controls
- Identify and develop new vendors suitable for individual component development maintaining the form-fit-function application
- Liaise with end customers to obtain the required samples for development
- Involve in the proto and final testing activities
- Ensure improvement in RMSP of the localized developed component
- Ensure and maintain timely supplies as per the execution plan
