Manager - Business Development - IT (5-12 yrs)
Job description
We are looking for Business Development Managers for Smart metering (AMI/AMR solutions), HES, MDM and Unified billing Software solutions.
We are looking for candidates with strong interpersonal and communication skills, a focus on organization, and enhanced multitasking abilities. B2B sales, marketing and strategic analysis are important aspects of the position, along with exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to close deals. The ideal candidate has experience in smart metering projects, researching market trends, target achievement, relationships and using proven methods to develop our business strategy. The role requires regular interaction at CXO level with senior most officers of client utilities and hence experience of handling such clientele will be a big plus.
Traveling across India will be required as part of regular job duties.
The role reports to Executive Director in Business Development and Branding. Positions are based across multiple cities including Noida, Agra, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Mumbai.
Job Responsibilities include :
- Understanding of Energy and utility market in India and globally especially Africa and Middle East and Asia Pacific market.
- Must be familiar with software and services sales in Energy and utility market.
- Strong relationship in India and global utility eco-systems, including partners, OEMs and customers.
- Must demonstrate the ability to create partnerships and stitch the Go to Market strategies for Energy and Utility Solutions.
- Understand the Smart Metering Projects (AMI/MDM) requirements.
- Generate lead in and Unified Billing Software (UBS) and Revenue Management Software (RMS)
- Respond to various RFI/RFP/RFQ requests, Co-ordinate and Collaborate with business development, delivery and Vertical/horizontal pre sales teams to develop winning proposals/presentations.
- The candidate should have proven experience in international sales in energy and utility industry.
- The candidate should have good understanding of HES, MDM & billing Software system in Energy and utility market.
- Ability to manage proposal repository (for medium to large scale deals) and curate standard bid content in terms of stakeholder mapping and competition landscape.
- The candidate should have experience in attending exhibition and conferences.
- Review and proof read RFX responses and client presentations for quality, cohesiveness of win themes, and accuracy of content and prepare presentations.
- The candidate should have proven experience in research and planning of international opportunity.
- Should have achieved the targets in his last role and provide two customer reference to validate his achievements.
- Partner with Pre-Sales and delivery teams to create contract-winning proposals for current and prospective clients.
- Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate terms to stakeholders
- Become a subject matter expert on our business products, processes and operations, and remain up-to-date on industry news
- Provide regular reports on sales performance and progress towards goals
- Understand the target markets, including analysing historical business practices and prepare market strategies customized for the specific market
- Collaborate with software, operations and sales teams to ensure that requirements are met
- Maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects with existing clients
- Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning
- Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on competitors
- Drive and own end to end process of Tender handling
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Marketing and/or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years' experience in BD/Sales/marketing functions in Smart Metering Project.
- Working in any of the utility Projects like Power and Water utilities will be preferred.
- Good understanding of Power Sector Primarily Distribution, EPC and IT enabled projects (e.g. Smart Metering)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of group presentations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Recruit suitable candidates for the group, induct new members.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
