Job Summary :
To create, retain and develop the new business and retaining the existing customers to Achieve the targets of the region.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks :

- Conducting market analysis and identifying potential customers in the market.
- Planning the Business strategies for the assigned region and targeting the key customers.
- Sales manager should be well versed with Ocean Freight (Imports and Exports)
- Promoting the company products and services in every form to ensure promotion and sales of our possibilities.
- To identify what best services and rates we can offer to our VIP customers based on their needs and helping teams to communicate and reach out to customer on our unique offerings and special features.
- Maintaining the existing customer relations as well as expand our customer base with new ones, whilst keeping your customer portfolio up to date.
- Visiting the existing and potential customers to understand their needs and built with the operational team a customized solution that perfectly fits with customers' requirements.
- Collecting data from potential /existing customers and other sources on competitor moves, business lost to competitors, reasons and providing long term solutions to these issues under guidance from President Business Development.
- Building strong relationships with the high value key accounts (existing /potential) in the region to enhance the revenue potential in coordination with the customers and liners.
- Securing the customer-generated revenues and serve as the main entry point for ocean freight both internally and externally.
Coordination for Business Execution:
- Sales activities will be divided between primarily External sales (i.e. customer visits) and internal sales (i.e. acquisition by phone - both warm & cold).
- Participating in the elaboration of the sales offer and discussing with the customer about the terms and conditions of the contract.
- Ensuring the follow-up until the payment is received and you may need to take part in the commercial management and settlement of claims outstanding
- Expected to work closely with the customer service team to develop supply chain solutions.
- Expected to monitor the progress of the shipment until the destination. You participate to the contract setting and monitor customers' payments with the Collection Desk.
- Coordinating with teams for tasks compliances of various internal teammates in CS, by offering guidance on trouble shooting and tracking the deal till completion.
- Solving deadlocks in pricing decisions and taking final decisions in view of long-term business perspective.
- Synching with other Senior members and Branch Manager/Management if required for sharing best practices, do's and don'ts, generating cross leads if any.
- Provide periodic updates and MIS reports to the Management for monitoring the business
- Ensuring appropriate processes to collect customer feedback periodically and use the information for improving service levels and customer relationships in the region.
People management and administrative:
- Providing the team appropriate technical information on shipments and other customer specific information.
- Reporting and MIS for Business Decision making :
- Preparing and submitting reports as per the requirement of the seniors with details related to:
Monthly lead generation and booking from region
Booking projections
- Sales visit updates/customer feedback
- Market intelligence/competition analysis reports
- Submitting accurate information as per the management requirement and help the top team with own views, information and insights for accurate business decision making.
- Providing customer feedback and service levels to the management to top management and help in taking decisions related to improvement.
- Special physical, psychological and work life balance demands of the role if any:
- The role requires Significant amount of travelling with in and out of the city.
- The role involves continuous coordination related demands and stressful situations arising from balancing interests of different stakeholders having diverse priorities.
Competency Requirements:
Educational Qualifications/Exp.:
Graduate or post-graduate with technical qualification
Technical/ Functional Knowledge and skills:
- Knowledge about Shipping and Logistics, especially Freight Forwarding industry.
- He Should be fully conversant with the shipping procedures and documentation. Exposure to socio cultural aspects of the assigned region and culture.
Good network within Global Freight Forwarding companies.
