We offer

The - Area Sales Manager - North is a commercial leadership role that has overall responsibility for all commercial and financial aspects for a defined commercial office (CO) and within its- associated geographical scope.

The purpose of the role is to lead North commercial team to drive commercial strategy and all associated commercial activities within the CO geography, in order to deliver agreed commercial result and objectives.

Key responsibilities :

1. Commercial Strategy Execution : 

- Accountable for the translation and deployment of area / country commercial strategy into local CO commercial objectives, plans and activities that facilitates delivery of CO targeted financial results in Premier / Premier Plus and Solutions portfolios whilst supporting future growth aspirations for Damco in the assigned CO geography.

- Accountable for the implementation, leadership and development of the CO organisational structure, aligned to OneDamco program blueprints.

2. Commercial Management : 

- Accountable for the leadership, implementation and compliance with approved One Damco commercial - ways of working- blueprints, processes and all associated tools, to continuously develop all customer segments through maintaining / growing Existing business, securing New business, driving improvement of sales force efficiency and effectiveness, whilst upholding brand values.

- Accountable for commercial collaboration and liaison between Commercial Offices and CSO- s, including acting as an escalation point for customer and commercial issues beyond the local CSO, in order to resolve issues and challenges in a professional and timely manner.

3. Financial Management : 

- Accountable for the delivery of CRM and ACTUAL - through the till- CM1 budgets and targets at agreed levels for the geography, for all sales channels and customer segments.

- Accountable for delivering CO profitability through effective management of all income and costs within purview, deploying corporately compliant pricing strategies to maximise margins whilst ensuring commercial responsiveness and competitiveness to customer opportunities and enquiries. The COM will act as the principal point of escalation for issues impacting CO profitability, including DOS interventions within the geography, and is responsible for ensuring corporate guidelines for values and ethical practices are adopted without exception.

4. Commercial Leadership & Talent Management : 

- Accountable for the ongoing leadership, direction, development and performance management of CO based (not hosted) commercial resources, with ensuing cascade and delivery of objectives, KPI's and Metrics as agreed and targeted. Provide accommodation for hosted resources.

- Accountable for the ongoing capability improvement of all commercial team members in the CO, thus enabling result delivery whilst raising sales professionalism and thus differentiation through improved customer experiences and demonstrated professionalism at Point Of Sale.

We are looking for :

- 6-12 years in a Commercial Leadership role, ideally from within Same industry

- General Management experience is definitely preferred

- Proven track record of leading, managing and growing a sizeable (similarly commensurate) commercial organisation, with floow thorugh to result delivery

- Proven track record in a matrix, multi cultural organisation, building strong relationships and networks both locally and internationally.

- Demonstrable persuasiveness and influencing skills, strong communicator and presenter

- Proven track record of personally developing and managing customers at the strategic and/or key account level

- Numerate, financially astute

- Strong organisational and planning skills, can work under pressure to meet deadlines

- Well developed Negotiation skills

- Fluency in English and local language (where different)
