Job Title : Sales Manager - Exports (North America/Europe)

Location : Mumbai (with international travel)

Summary of Role :

The Export Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the export strategy for designated regions, focusing on driving sales growth, managing key international relationships, and ensuring timely payment collection. The candidate will travel internationally to manage partnerships and explore new market opportunities, while coordinating closely with internal cross functional teams to ensure the success of export operations. Expected to display people management skills to handle the export team team members.

Key Responsibilities :

Export Strategy Development and Implementation :

- Develop and execute strategies to maximize export sales, profitability, and market share in the assigned region.

- Identify new markets and business opportunities while building and nurturing new business accounts.

- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to optimize sales strategies.

- Plan and execute targeted sales campaigns based on market trends and customer insights.

Payment Collection and Financial Management :

- Ensure timely collection of payments from international clients and distributors.

- Negotiate payment terms and manage payment-related concerns with clients.

- Coordinate with the finance team to monitor and report on payment status, mitigating any risks related to outstanding payments.

Team Management :

- Manage export team members setting targets, monitoring performance & collaborating with CFTs to ensure the achievement of sales and operational objectives.

Relationship Management :

- Establish and manage long-term relationships with international distributors, agents, and key clients.

- Negotiate contracts, shipping terms, and pricing with partners to ensure profitability.

- Monitor and evaluate distributor performance, providing feedback and reporting to management as necessary.

- Build strong, trust-based relationships with customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.

Sales and Marketing :

- Drive export sales growth by generating new business leads and expanding existing accounts.

- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the company's footprint in new and existing markets.

- Coordinate with the marketing team to develop region-specific marketing materials and campaigns.

- Adapt to the cultural, political, and business environments of target markets to tailor the approach accordingly.

Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving :

- Continuously seek ways to improve export processes, ensuring optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

- Address and resolve any operational challenges or customer concerns that arise in a timely manner.

- Provide insights and feedback to management for improving sales processes and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 6-7 years of experience in export management or international sales, with a proven track record.

- Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing a team.

- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills with distributors, agents, and international clients.

- Ability to manage payment terms, collections, and financial oversight related to export sales.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing diverse international relationships.

- Proven ability to meet and exceed export sales targets.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications :

- Master's/Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, or a related field.

- Experience working with international markets (exports), especially North America/Europe.

- Familiarity with international trade regulations and compliance.

- Experience in logistics and international freight forwarding.

- Proficiency in managing export sales using export management tools & proficiency in MS Office.

- Experience in sales growth and business development within international markets.

- Additional language skills are a plus.
