Such offices are called 'development offices' in universities of global repute and usually have a staffing of 1 for every 1,000 alumni.
Position : Proposal Writer
Location : IIT Kanpur Development Foundation (IITKDF), Kanpur
Reporting to : Vice President Development
Responsibilities and Expectations :
- The primary responsibility of this role is to craft compelling proposals, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and reports for various projects and programs.
- The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to understand complex projects and their requirements.
- Additionally, this role involves analyzing project data, gathering necessary inputs, and collaborating with team members to ensure the successful execution of projects. Proposal Writing:
- Develop high-quality proposals and MoUs for the projects and programs finalized and agreed upon by the Fundraising team;
- Collaborate with team members to gather information, understand project requirements, and tailor proposals to meet specific needs.
- Ensure proposals are clear, concise, and persuasive, with a focus on showcasing the organization's strengths and capabilities.
Project Analysis :
- Analyze project objectives, timelines, and deliverables to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
- Identify potential challenges, risks, and opportunities associated with proposed projects.
- Provide insights and recommendations to project teams based on data analysis and research. Documentation and Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and status updates.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, well-organized, and compliant with internal and external requirements.
- Collaborate with project & program managers and stakeholders to gather input and feedback for reports and documentation.
Communication and Collaboration :
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and partners to gather information and clarify project requirements.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, technical teams, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive proposals and reports.
- Act as a liaison between different departments to ensure alignment and coordination on project-related activities.
Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in English, communications, business administration, or a related field.
- B.Tech preferred
- Proven experience in proposal writing, project analysis, or a similar role. Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and synthesize complex information into clear and concise language. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ready to relocate to Noida
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working in project management or related fields. Familiarity with technical writing and terminology. Knowledge of government contracting processes and requirements.

Pay : 300,000.00 - 700,000.00 per year
