The primary function of the role is to head the division to achieve the plans set (i.e. to be the global leader in travel management to customers). The role is to make sure that the division is headed in the right direction from all aspects of the business. The GM will report in to the group CEO being the main link between the group and other divisions in the company.

Brief

- You will be the first in command and responsible for giving strategic direction to the team and guiding them towards the mission of the organization.

Duties and responsibilities

Responsibility

- Primary:

- Manage the division from a profitability perspective consistently

- Improve process, innovate strategy to achieve mission of the organization

- Achieve targeted passenger count

- Introduction of new products and services

- Introduction of new stations/locations

- Maintain, improve and introduce customer experience

- Secondary :

- Represent the division as and when required with in the travel community like tourism boards, airline, hotel and ground handling vendors etc.

- Work closely with the other divisions like finance to plan financials budgets, bring revenue optimization (eg: Not promoting corporate customers with poor revenue and long turn around days in terms of payments).

- Developing high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives

- P&L Target Vs Actual

- Year on Year growth % Target Vs Actual

- Long term Plan vs Actual

- Passenger count Target Vs Actual

- Positive cashflow

Qualifications :

Education: Master in Management if work experience less than 10 years or Graduation in any stream with minimum 50% academic score if work experience more than 10 years

As General Manager the candidate is expected to have critical competence in four major areas listed below

Apart from the above, the candidate is expected have

1. Knowledge in finance management if coming from a non-finance background. (Bascially knowledge to read financials like cash flow, balance sheet, P&L, revenue %, cost of sales etc)

2. Knowledge in Organizational culture and values to help the mid-level managers head the right direction

Experience :

1. Proven experience in similar or senior management roles to turn around projects

2. Experience in developing strategies aligning the mission of the division Skills :

1. Excellent Leadership skills with communication skills in both writing and public speaking

2. An entrepreneurial mind set with outstanding organizational skills

3. Analytical and problem solving skill sets

Working conditions :
