Head - Sales - Medical Devices (10-15 yrs)
This role involves leading the sales team, driving growth in the vascular medical device sector, and ensuring that sales objectives align with the company's vision and goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in medical device sales, a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, and a proven track record of achieving substantial sales growth.
Job Description -
Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
Strategic Sales Leadership:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth and increase market share across India.
- Identify and prioritize new business opportunities, emerging markets, and customer segments.
- Formulate strategic plans to capture new business and enhance market penetration.
Team Management and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of regional sales managers and sales representatives across the country.
- Set clear performance targets, conduct regular performance evaluations, and implement development programs to enhance team skills and productivity.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance sales culture.
Sales Operations and Performance Monitoring:
- Oversee daily sales operations to ensure achievement of sales targets and effective execution of sales strategies.
- Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify trends, assess performance, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Ensure operational efficiency and optimize sales processes.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including hospitals, clinics, distributors, and other healthcare entities.
- Understand customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Address and resolve any client issues or concerns promptly.
Market and Competitor Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, customer preferences, and competitive dynamics.
- Utilize market insights to refine sales strategies, improve positioning, and capitalize on opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activities and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Integration:
- Work closely with the marketing, product development, and customer service teams to ensure alignment with sales objectives and strategies.
- Provide feedback on product performance and market needs to inform product development and marketing initiatives.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support new product launches and promotional activities.
Budgeting and Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the sales budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
- Prepare and present detailed sales forecasts, performance reports, and financial analyses to senior management.
- Monitor and control sales expenses to achieve cost-efficiency.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all sales activities comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
- Uphold the highest standards of quality, ethics, and professionalism in all sales interactions and business practices.

Background / Experience:
- 10-15 years of experience in sales within the medical device industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role managing national sales operations.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of driving profitable business growth and achieving ambitious revenue targets.
- Strong analytical and team Management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office.
