Head - Sales & Marketing - Chemical (10-15 yrs)
Job Purpose:
The Sales and Marketing Head will be responsible for overseeing the company's sales and marketing strategies, with a primary focus on managing and growing relationships with existing clients while also acquiring new business through new client acquisition. This role will drive sales growth, develop marketing plans, and build a strong pipeline for sustainable business expansion, both domestically and internationally in the industrial chemicals sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Relationship Management (Existing Clients):
- Manage and nurture relationships with existing clients, ensuring customer satisfaction, repeat business, and strong long-term partnerships.
- Understand the unique needs of clients and provide tailored solutions to ensure they remain satisfied with the company's products and services.
- Regularly communicate with clients to identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products or services.
2. New Business Acquisition (New Clients):
- Identify and develop new business opportunities by acquiring new clients in both domestic and international markets.
- Build a strong sales pipeline through lead generation, market research, and networking.
- Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the customer base.
- Actively seek out and target prospective clients in the industrial chemicals sector, focusing on both large-scale and niche markets.
3. Sales Strategy & Target Setting:
- Create and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company targets and business goals.
- Set sales targets for both the marketing and sales teams, ensuring alignment with the company's overall objectives.
- Track and monitor sales performance, reporting progress regularly to senior management, and adjust strategies as necessary.
4. Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales and marketing team, providing clear direction and support to ensure the team meets set goals.
- Hire, train, and develop new sales and marketing personnel to enhance the capabilities of the team.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven environment, where the team can thrive and exceed performance expectations.
5. Business Development:
- Conduct market research to identify new trends, customer needs, and competition, and use this information to develop targeted marketing campaigns.
- Develop strategies for both product development and new market expansion.
- Attend trade shows, networking events, and client meetings to build the brand's presence and acquire new business opportunities.
6. Marketing Campaigns & Sales Promotions:
- Lead and oversee the creation of sales campaigns, marketing initiatives, and promotional offers to drive customer interest and sales.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to design compelling advertisements, digital marketing campaigns, and social media outreach that align with the company's branding.
- Ensure that all marketing communications effectively promote the company's products, services, and unique selling points.
7. Post-Sales Coordination:
- Work closely with the accounts, Exim and operations teams to ensure a smooth post-sales process, including timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Act as the point of contact for client concerns during the post-sales phase, addressing any issues promptly to maintain strong relationships.
8. Sales Reporting & Analysis:
- Analyze and report on sales data, client feedback, and marketing campaign performance to assess effectiveness.
- Use data and insights to continuously improve sales strategies and marketing initiatives.
- Prepare and present periodical sales reports and progress updates to senior management, outlining achievements and areas of improvement.
9. International Market Development:
- Research and identify potential international markets for exporting the company's products, developing tailored strategies to enter these markets.
10. Budget Management:
- Manage and allocate resources for sales and marketing activities, ensuring that initiatives are executed within the allocated budget.
- Monitor expenses and ROI of marketing campaigns to ensure cost-effective sales growth.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
1. Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Graduate).
- Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration or Marketing Management is preferred.
2. Work Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in Sales and Marketing, with a strong focus on client relationship management and new business acquisition.
- Extensive experience in the chemical industry or similar industrial sectors.
- Proven track record of sales success, client acquisition, and market development.
- Experience in both domestic and international sales and business expansion.
3. Key Skills:
- Strong sales and business development expertise, with the ability to manage client portfolios and acquire new business.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience managing sales teams.
- Communication (written and spoken) skills in English and Hindi.
- Proficient in digital marketing, CRM systems, and sales management tools.
- Ability to build relationships, negotiate deals, and drive business growth.
- Strong understanding of market research, sales forecasting, and strategic planning.
