Head - Sales - Banking Channel - Asset Management Company (8-10 yrs)

Position Overview :

We are looking for a seasoned professional to head the Banking Channel within our Asset Management Company (AMC). This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance mutual fund sales through banking partners, fostering robust relationships, and driving growth across the channel. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing banking partnerships within the AMC industry, with a strategic mindset to lead initiatives and achieve ambitious targets.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Channel Development :

- Define and implement a comprehensive strategy to drive sales and expand the Banking Channel for mutual funds.

- Collaborate with senior leadership to align channel strategies with overall business objectives, ensuring optimal utilization of banking networks for mutual fund distribution.

- Analyze market trends, banking partner needs, and competitive insights to refine strategies and stay ahead of industry changes.

Relationship Management :

- Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with senior stakeholders at partner banks, ensuring mutual goals are aligned.

- Work closely with partner banks' distribution and product teams to increase mutual fund penetration and create customized sales strategies.

- Conduct regular meetings, trainings, and workshops with banking teams to enhance product knowledge and engagement.

Sales and Business Growth :

- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the banking channel through proactive business planning.

- Identify and develop new banking partnerships to expand the AMC's distribution network and market share.

- Collaborate with the sales team to provide the support and resources necessary to drive performance and meet sales goals.

Team Leadership and Development :

- Lead and mentor a team of relationship managers and channel partners, setting clear objectives and monitoring their performance.

- Foster a culture of high performance and accountability, developing KPIs to monitor productivity and drive results.

- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and support to ensure team members are equipped to succeed in a competitive environment.

Compliance and Reporting :

- Ensure that all activities within the banking channel comply with regulatory and compliance requirements.

- Generate and present regular reports on channel performance, partner engagement, and achievement of targets to senior management.

- Develop and implement metrics to measure and enhance channel productivity, tracking key performance indicators across the banking channel.

Qualifications and Experience :

- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.

- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in the AMC industry, specifically handling the Banking Channel.

- Demonstrated success in managing banking partnerships and achieving growth targets.

- In-depth knowledge of mutual fund products, financial advisory, and banking distribution channels.

- Proven ability to lead a team, drive performance, and foster a collaborative environment.
