THE COMPANY

Our client is an emerging Asset Manager (Mutual Fund) backed by a committed and financially strong Group. The company began with asset building in fixed income and is now strengthening its capability to raise good quality equity assets. And wants to create a respectable representation in Retail and HNI mutual fund assets

The company is looking for a experienced, dynamic, business-development oriented expert to build a healthy Business & AuM of Retail Assets in the next 1 to 3 years

THE JOB

1. Help build and execute (and update periodically) a 3-year and 5-year Strategic Plan for Retail Business covering Product strategy, Org structure, Resource plan for Retail Sales with a clear focus on raising retail assets

2. Manage the approval process of the Plans with various stake holders

3. Review and Strengthen the Retail Sales Team as appropriate. Take responsibility for the L&D of the Team. Manage the periodic appraisal process for the Sales Team

4. Build a strong platform of good quality retail distribution, both institutional and individual to generate sustainable fund flows

5. Collaborate with the Marketing and Customer Service departments to ensure that the Company's communication is reaching its distribution target audience as well as retail investors effectively

6. Develop appropriate compensation plans, within the regulatory framework, for existing and prospective distribution channels & counters

7. Provide meaningful and action-oriented MIS on a periodic basic to CEO and other stakeholders

8. Provide periodic analyses of competitors' products and activities to various stakeholders

9. Located in Mumbai

THE CANDIDATE

1. 15-25 years' experience (Age 40-50 years), out of which the past 8-10 years were spent raising retail/HNI assets through distribution

2. Worked with a high growth, agile company across Mutual Funds with significant presence in the retail segment, as part of more recent experience.

3. Demonstrated track record of building a robust, sustainable, profitable sales flow through retail-oriented distribution

4. Wholesome exposure and experience across typical retail/HNI channels of MFs viz. individual MFDs, regional and national distributors, Wealth Managers, Bank branches, RIAs etc

5. Must have a go-to book of high potential distributors across various retail channels

6. Must have sales/distribution experience covering markets across India including B 30 (Below the Top 30 Towns) too

7. Exposure to and interest in other aspects of business like Institutional Business, Marketing & Communication and Customer Service

8. Must enjoy working in a challenging environment and take pride in creating a presence for a new comer in this competitive industry

9. Must be an assertive go getter and self-starter, be result-oriented and perseverant. But have the maturity to step back and think long term

10. Must have excellent people and communication skills and have a subtle consensus building management and leadership style

11. Must be stable and have an average tenure of 4+ years
