Head - Public Relation & Communications (10-15 yrs)
Function Expertise:
Communication Strategy: Develop and implement an integrated communication strategy for enhancing company's reputation and brand image. Ensure consistent messaging and brand positioning across all external and internal communication channels.
Content and Thought leadership: Spearhead the content strategy and development, including press releases, authored articles, and media Q&A. Serve as a subject matter expert in communications, creating integrated communication plans aligned with the overall reputation roadmap.
PR Management: Lead all PR activities including press conferences, media round tables, and press events. Build and manage relationships with media, industry associations, and other external stakeholders.
Investor and Policy Communications: Partner with senior leadership and the General Counsel on investor communications and public policy initiatives. Collaborate on exploring partnerships with government entities to drive brand impact.
Problem Solving:
- Reputation Management: Identify and address potential issues impacting the company's reputation. Implement proactive strategies to manage and mitigate risks.
- Crisis Management: Develop and manage a crisis communication plan to handle any potential reputation threats/challenge. Act as a spokesperson during crises, ensuring clear, timely, and transparent communication.
- Event and Partnership Management: Identify and develop partnerships with industry associations and influencers. Lead initiatives to engage with high-profile panels and drive relevant agendas.
Interaction:
- Leadership Support: Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to support external and internal communications. Act as a communications advisor, helping craft messages for various stakeholders.
- Media and Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the official spokesperson and primary contact for media and industry stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships to support the company's brand and reputation.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing team to align communication strategies with overall business objectives.
CSR and Industry Engagement: Lead the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and build partnerships with organizations that align with the brand's purpose. Engage with industry forums and platforms to enhance brand equity.
Qualifications:
- You should be bachelor's/ master's degree in Communication, Journalism Public Relations or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communication, or a related field.
Skills, experiences & behaviors:
- Extensive PR and Communications Experience: Experience in PR and corporate communications, ideally with a background in agency or digital-first brands. Experience in the fintech sector is highly desirable.
- Social Media Proficiency: Deep understanding of the social media landscape and its strategic applications for brand building and engagement.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to craft compelling messages and effectively convey information.
- Creative and Strategic Thinking: Strong creative problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and innovatively in developing communication strategies and solutions.
- Media Relations: Established network of media contacts and the ability to leverage these relationships to drive favourable narratives and enhance the brand's visibility.
- Industry Associations and Forums: Solid understanding of industry associations and forums, with existing contacts and the ability to navigate these networks effectively.
- Crisis Management: Demonstrated experience in managing crisis situations and protecting the brand's reputation, with a proactive approach to crisis communication and mitigation.
