With the aim to turn Optimite into the World's No. 1 Email Marketing Agency in the next 2 years, you'll be working in an atmosphere of hyper-growth. Our founders, Nishant and Sushant Yadav (brothers to an advantage), started Optimite on Fiverr, serving over 2,000 brands globally in the last 5 years. They have worked closely with the leadership of the largest brands and digital agencies in the US and Europe.
About the Role :
In this role, you will establish Optimite's internal design team as a "media house," elevating our brand storytelling and creating a cohesive visual experience across all client and in-house projects. As our Head of Design, you will drive design strategy, enhance team capabilities in Figma, and set up streamlined processes to ensure high-quality output and brand consistency.
You'll be instrumental in developing a unified design system, fostering a collaborative environment, and maintaining Optimite's standard of excellence across all design deliverables.
What will you do?
As the Head of Design at Optimite, you'll oversee all aspects of our design initiatives, ensuring top-quality output and efficient workflows. You'll focus on Design System & Quality (40%), Team Training & Development (30%), and Media Production & Collaboration (30%).
Design System & Quality (40%)
- Establish Figma as the primary design tool, building a comprehensive design system that ensures consistent and high-quality deliverables.
- Oversee the creation of reusable templates and assets for various projects, enabling faster turnaround times and brand alignment across touchpoints.
- Set and monitor design quality metrics, establishing feedback loops to maintain high standards across the board.
Metrics you'll own :
- Design Consistency: Ensuring a unified brand look and feel across all assets.
- Template Utilization Rate: Increasing the use of standardized templates for efficiency.
- Quality Score: Tracking adherence to defined quality benchmarks in final deliverables.
Team Training & Development (30%) :
- Create and implement a training program for Figma and design best practices, enhancing team skills and enabling collaboration within the platform.
- Mentor and support junior designers, providing growth opportunities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop a structured feedback system, conducting regular design reviews and 1:1 sessions to support team growth.
Metrics you'll own :
- Training Completion Rate: Ensuring all team members are proficient in Figma and design principles.
- Skill Development: Tracking team progress through evaluations and skill assessments.
- Mentorship Satisfaction: Gauging the effectiveness of mentorship through team feedback.
Media Production & Collaboration (30%) :
- Establish media production workflows, similar to a media house, that enable efficient, scalable design processes for both client and internal projects.
- Collaborate with marketing, content, and operations teams to create cohesive, brand-aligned assets that resonate with target audiences.
- Use data-driven insights to refine creative strategies, adapting based on campaign performance and audience feedback.
Metrics you'll own :
- Project Delivery Timeliness: Ensuring on-time delivery of all design projects.
- Collaboration Effectiveness: Measuring successful cross-functional work with feedback from other teams.
- Design Engagement Metrics: Tracking the impact of designs on campaign engagement and performance.
Must Have :
- 5+ years of design experience, including team management, Figma expertise, and a focus on quality control.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining design systems for brand consistency.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to implement scalable workflows that streamline production.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams in marketing, content, and operations.
Good to have :
- Background in media production or experience in building internal "media house" capabilities.
- Experience with design for ecommerce or digital agencies.
- Familiarity with data-driven design approaches, using metrics to inform and optimize creative decisions.

Our interview process is designed to get to know you, your design expertise, and how you approach leadership and innovation. Here's what you can expect:
Round 1 - Video Interview (One-way): In this first round, you'll complete a one-way video interview, answering a few questions about your experience in design leadership, Figma skills, and approach to building a cohesive design system. This helps us understand your foundational skills and initial alignment with our vision for Optimite's design direction.
Round 2 - Deep Dive into Assignment: Panel: Hiring Manager You'll be given a design assignment focusing on creating a brand-aligned design system or a reusable template library. During this interview, we'll review your submission to understand your thought process, Figma expertise, and approach to making design scalable and collaborative.
Round 3 - Design Case Study & Problem-Solving Skills: Panel: Hiring Manager + Cross-Functional Team Member In this round, you'll work through a design case study, proposing solutions for a hypothetical project. This is a chance for you to showcase your creativity, collaborative approach, and strategic thinking. We'll also chat about how you use data to make design decisions and tell a brand's story.
Round 4 - Culture Fit, X-factor, Innovation, & Hiring Manager Round: Panel: Hiring Manager + Founder Here, we'll explore your vision for building a high-performing, collaborative design team, as well as your approach to mentorship and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This round is about getting to know you as a leader and understanding how you can help Optimite grow through design.
Round 5 - HR Negotiations: Panel: HR + Founder The final round will cover compensation, benefits, and performance-based incentives to ensure we're aligned on the terms of employment and growth potential within our design team.
