1. POSITION VACANT: Head - Communication, Pune, Jankidevi Bajaj Gram Vikas Sanstha, Maharashtra

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

The Bajaj Group of companies have a strong CSR commitment, guided by the vision and philosophy of its Founder, the late Shri Jamnalal Bajaj. All CSR activities of the Bajaj Group are coordinated and undertaken through the Jankidevi Bajaj Gram Vikas Sanstha (JBGVS), the apex society and non-profit organization of the group, established in 1987 and named after the late Padma Vibhushan Shrimati Jankidevi Bajaj.

JBGVS works single-mindedly towards bridging the divide between urban and rural India, through integrated rural development interventions, designed with a view to ensuring achievement of the United Nations- Sustainable Development Goals. JBGVS interventions focus on five major areas, that include, Education, Healthcare, Environment, Economic Development and Social Development.

JBGVS acts as a catalyst and assists the participating rural community in selected villages in improving their quality of life, through poverty alleviation, empowerment of women, gender equality and the development of human and natural resources, while promoting ecological balance. JBGVS works directly in 110 villages in Maharashtra and Rajasthan and indirectly reaches out to more than 1,000 villages across the country. All JBGVS initiatives are designed in consultation with and the active participation of the local village community, for better acceptability and successful implementation.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the CEO, JBGVS, the Head- Communication (HC) shall be responsible for managing the corporate communication function, encompassing donors, program partners and internal and external stakeholders using multiple media and channels, including social media.

- S/he shall support JBGVS senior management in ensuring effective communication, as well as institutionalizing key learnings for continuous process improvement and innovation.

- This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned communication professional, with demonstrated experience of managing the corporate communication function, to steer and help achieve the organization's ambitious plans, goals and targets.

Key Deliverables:

(1) Manage the corporate communications function addressing the needs of all stakeholders, partners and collaborators of the organization, using an appropriate mix of channels mix and well-articulated messages, pre-by approved management;

(2) Facilitate two-way communication between JBGVS and stakeholders, by properly deciphering incoming messages from the cross section of stakeholders. Maintain the originality of incoming messages, while conveying the same to senior management group, as well as of outgoing messages, articulated on behalf of senior management;

(3) Ensure the utilization of multiple communication channels and mass communication media viz. print media electronic media, social media, web communications;

(4) Ensure that brand building processes in respect of CSR initiatives undertaken for the Bajaj Group, are up to date;

(5) Facilitate institutionalization of key learnings with a view to enabling continuous improvement and process innovation, enabling management to be aware about the latest in the CSR universe, both nationally and globally;

(6) Facilitate evolution of the repository of communication policy, materials, documentation and information processes within the organization, enabling their smooth access and retrieval by management and other interested stakeholders, including the CSR community;

(7) Assist senior management and multi-sectoral and multi-disciplinary teams at JBGVS across geographies, with expert inputs on communication policy and processes;

(8) Develop BCC tools for the JBGVS team and/or its partners, collaborators, communities, etc.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification:

Applicants must be graduates with a Masters- or PG Degree/ Diploma in Mass Communications, or Communications, or Journalism, or Public Relations, or Social Sciences, or relevant discipline, preferably from a top-tier institute.

Experience:

8 to 10 years of experience in formulating and managing communication and media relations strategies, for a wide range of audiences, with bilateral/ multilateral/ non-profit/ CSR organizations

(Note: Candidates falling short of the prescribed number of years of experience, but possessing quality/ exceptionally relevant experience, may also be considered)

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Expertise in developing communications materials addressing job needs;

(2) Proven experience in managing partnerships and campaigns;

(3) Excellent negotiation, influencing and communication skills;

(4) Excellent oral, written and presentation skills in English;

(5) Demonstrable attractive outlook with positive bent of mind, ability to undertake independent initiatives and competencies to work as team player;

(6) Demonstrable positive attitude towards women, poor, children and vulnerable sections of the society;

(7) Must be ready to work with personal passion to manage the corporate brand image of the institution;

(8) Computer proficiency with expertise in Windows, MS Office and database software;

(9) Should be able to take long strenuous job assignments with verve and vigor;

(10) Willing to travel in rural areas.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation for the position is Rs. 12 lacs per annum. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.

6. AGE LIMIT: This shall be a travel intensive role across all intervention areas of JBGVS and accordingly the preferred age for the incumbent shall be 35-45 years

7. APPOINTMENT: The initial contract will be offered for a period of one year and shall be renewable based on performance.
