Head - Business Development - FMCG/Foods & Brewery (10-20 yrs)
Field sales management
- Support the Business development Manager to build and evolve the Indian field strategy, working across Organization business units to generate best practice and ensure optimum efficiency
- Brief the field sales agencies clearly and simply to deliver best commercial and brand solutions
- Support the Business development Manager to agree and negotiate field agency terms and conditions to drive optimum performance
- Construct and own the field sales reporting to give weekly visibility to the total INDIAN Franchise team including the INDIAN General Manager
- Strive for perfection in leading the day to day INDIAN field sales agenda, which will be staffed by up 10 remotely working field agency staff
- Create a gold standard field sales in-store vision and then recruit and retain agreed number of stores into this model
- Ensure gold standard field sales execution from provision of market leading training and capability, brand orientation, activation and GTM plan
Customer Management -
- In agreement with the Business development Manager build and evolve the channel strategy, across grocery, convenience, digital, discounters, leisure, licensed and sports
- Build knowledge based relationships with customers, agencies, Britvic and other parts of the Organization system to become the channel and customer expert for the Franchise brands
- Manage the customer and internal P&L to deliver required volume and revenue targets
- Pioneer, build and lead new business relationships with complex national INDIAN customers, such as Tesco One Stop, Boots and WHSmith
- Working with agencies and internal stakeholders to build a generic shopper marketing calendar which can be rolled into multiple customers
- Work with agencies and internal stakeholders to build and execute a 'perfect store vision' across relevant channels for each seed brand and use these as testimonials to evangelise the growth of Organization brands
- Build, share and own a customer scorecard to share bi weekly with the INDIAN Franchise team to track revenue, distribution and activation wins
Other :
- Manage the field sales team and customer/channel plan within agreed budgets
- Build meaningful relationships with Britvic to ensure flawless execution to include: finance management, activation and availability
- Work to build a strong sense of team within INDIAN Franchise - at each encounter give more than take
- Coach and mentor junior members of the Franchise team to strive for excellence
- Work with the Future Brands team to share learnings and plans, driving synergies and sharing resource where appropriate
- Apply an intuitive knowledge of the consumer journey to optimise sales from execution
- Adopt a customer centric tone for both internal and external customers
- Influence without authority - build meaningful relations based on giving more than taking and high emotional empathy
We are looking for someone with:
- Track record of successful field sales management, demonstrating a good understanding of how to deliver a good return on investment
- Understanding of revenue management principles and importance of value in driving shopper and consumer choices
- Understanding of the reason for brands and the drivers of success
- Working knowledge of eCommerce customers such as Ocado and Amazon
- Demonstrable understanding of P&L management
- Excellent sales and operations management to include forecasting and inventory management
