Role : Senior Commodity Manager

About the role:

- We are seeking applications from experienced and seasoned trade professionals who are currently engaged in brokering deals between buying and selling entities for internationally traded products and commodities in industries such as - Agricultural, Food and Beverage, Apparel & Garments, Chemicals, Industrial Raw Materials, Handicraft, Products (metal, wooden, textile), Industrial Scraps etc.

- The ideal candidate should have experience in negotiating and closing import-export deals of all sizes (half containers, mixed containers to multiple container recurring monthly supply contracts). The candidate should have the experience to be able to spot and reject offers from potential fraudulent dealers and suppliers as well as be able to identify buy offers that are spurious.

- As someone who is engaged as a commodities trader and has been in the business for a while, you should have knowledge about markets (which geographical region has competitive advantage for which product) and prices for the products and commodities you trade regularly.

What you do most of the time:

- Generate Import-Export (wholesale) leads on telephone for medium to large deals above $100K from various lead sources including internal data on go4WorldBusiness

- Vet the leads and discuss import/export requirements with senior and CXO level clients

- Locate reliable and trustworthy counter parties for the wholesale buyers we work with

- Connect buyers with appropriate suppliers wherever there is a close match of deal parameters

- Maintain excellent client relationship with both buyers and sellers your connect for repeat business

- Advise clients on best deal terms after studying both buying and selling offers

What you need to Qualify :

- A formal degree in international trade may help you stand apart in the candidate pool, but is not a necessity

- Since you will be expected to negotiate and close import-export deals between international buyers and suppliers, it is expected that you will have good communication skills.

- The role requires you to have prior knowledge and industry experience in international product and commodity trading

- You should have an excellent grasp on INCOTERMS and commonly used payment instruments

- High level of confidence, drive and a results-oriented street smart character with a positive outlook

- Excellent negotiation skills to be able to convince our buyers and suppliers to close deals

- Having experience in cross-border logistics may also qualify you for the job.
