The Automation Sales Engineer works to grow GLENTEC's local market share through attracting new customers and by increasing spend of existing customers. This role is one that is both challenging and also rewarding, giving the successful candidate an opportunity to focus on account management and business strategy while working in a teaming environment.
As an Automation Sales Engineer you will be responsible for growing a portfolio of business in the India. The candidate will sell new products and services and grow the territory by adding new clients. You will develop sales proposals, estimates, specifications and presentations for customers. Other responsibilities include preparing thorough strategic plans, call reporting, gaining comprehensive product knowledge as well as keeping current on market trends. You will be the primary point of contact for customers to our internal customer service, engineering, and operations groups.
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Market and Business Intelligence - Use market analysis to anticipate and address customer and market needs. Identify and communicate market trends within area of responsibility. Experience managing a sales territory coupled with a broad understanding of the industrial automation marketplace is essential.
2. Sales Process - Plan, report, communicate, and forecast selling activities. Implement short and long term business plan and actions. Responsible for channel partners account planning.
3. Customer Relations - Establish relationships with key stakeholders within customer organizations. Take personal responsibility for customer issues/complaints and ensure timely follow through. The ability to penetrate new potential clients and form relationships with existing clients in the territory is crucial to your success.
4. Sales Drive - Seek of short term and long term opportunities to increase sales within area of responsibility. Systematically identify and follow-up on business opportunities. Persist to find solutions in difficult situations. Keep self and others focused on key tasks and activities. Share best and worst practices to drive for improvements. Meet or exceed assigned sales budget in assigned territory.
5. Sales Networking - Continually increase network inside and outside GLENTEC. Support trade shows and industry associations as required. Support Global Account Managers and Strategic Account Managers in sales efforts.
6. Sales Techniques - Work with different viewpoints (customers, markets, partners, competitors) when creating a solution/sales approach. Apply and follow Customer Centric Sales Process.
7. Service - Align GLENTEC service portfolio with customer's business objectives. Achieve service sales orders target.
8. Apply Technical Knowledge - Work with OEMs, channel partners, and end users to explore exposed and unexposed operational needs and expectations. Analyze functional interdependencies and opportunities to recommend unique solutions that meet customer needs.
