Job Description for Sales & Marketing - Senior Level

Qualifications:

UG - BE/ B. Tech. - Metallurgy/Mechanical from Government College is Preferred.

PG - MBA (From Premier Institute) is Preferred. MBA is not Mandatory

Total Experience - 12 - 15 years

Location - Pune

Preferably from Alloy Steel/Special Steel companies

Designation - General Manager/ Associate Vice President

The key responsibilities of the role include :

A. Market Research & Competitive Analysis

a. Analyse published data and statistics regarding market

b. Keep close tab on customers- future plans and steel requirement

c. Evaluating past performance of a product or service's sales

d. Analyse import data and recognise opportunities for import substitutions

e. Commission surveys or studies whenever required

f. Co-ordinate research projects

g. Periodic competitive analysis:

i. Conduct research and gather information on competitors e.g. production levels, pricing, new equipment, new product development etc.

ii. For competitors who may go bankrupt/ have other temporary problems, check if we can capture their market

h. Participate in exhibitions to promote company's products

B. Development of new grades:

a. Target OEMs for development of new grades / acquiring business in other grades

b. Target approvals in various industry segments which comply with target contribution

c. Update Senior Management about the need to upgrade any equipment in-line with market requirement, or from strategic point of view

C. Reporting & MIS

a. Monthly MIS should include KAM-wise performance on all the parameters mentioned in this document E.g. (including but not limited to)

i. Category-wise dispatch

ii. Order booking

iii. Collection

iv. Inventory status

v. QAD Issues

vi. Market Development

Further, KAM-wise targets on the above should also be included in monthly MIS

D. Order Booking & Sales

a. High Value steels- share in current product mix to be increased substantially as per targets from Senior Management

b. Ensure order booking for 100% plant capacity utilization every month.

c. Further, plant has to be booked 30 Days in advance.

d. Available capacity of plant to be checked with PPC (in view of planned shutdowns, if any)

e. Ensure that material is dispatched as soon as it is Ready for Dispatch

E. Internal Systems Management

a. Guide and monitor sales team to ensure proper Order Entry and order management in SAP

b. Ensure close coordination with PPC

c. Ensure low levels of Inventory as per targets from Senior Management

d. In case of any quality issues, resolve within 30 days along with QAD. Ensure timely commercial settlements of Quality Complaints, Weight differences, Pricing/Taxation Errors (if any)

F. Collections & Credit :

a. Target Zero Over dues of >15 Days

b. Monitor exposure to various segments/ customers and control sales to pre-empt delay/default of payments

c. Ensure correct, complete and on-time documentation (including Forms C, F & ARE, Credit Notes, Debit Notes, Supplementary Invoices)

d. Ensure Monthly accounts reconciliation with Finance

e. Evaluate creditworthiness of all customers before extending credit (along with Finance Dept.)

G. Leadership

a. Mentor team members and manage the team in case of issues/disputes

b. Set goals for each team member and motivate the team to achieve the same

c. Ensure knowledge up-gradation or trainings for team wherever necessary

d. Delegating tasks and guiding team members to improve performance
