Flomic Global Logistics - Import Customer Service Role (2-5 yrs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding import shipments and logistics inquiries.
- Manage the complete import process, including documentation, customs clearance, and delivery coordination.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of import shipments from the origin to the final destination.
- Provide customers with timely updates on shipment status, potential delays, and any issues that may arise during the import process.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues related to customs clearance or other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update import records, including tracking numbers, shipment status, invoices, and any related documentation.
- Assist customers in resolving any issues or discrepancies related to pricing, billing, or shipment delays.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (such as import tariffs, duties, and customs regulations) for smooth customs clearance.
- Collaborate with the operations and logistics teams to ensure accurate and efficient movement of goods.
- Provide high levels of customer service by offering proactive solutions to meet customer needs and expectations.
- Handle inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Monitor and track all inbound shipments and ensure delivery deadlines are met.
- Assist with the preparation of import quotes and related documentation for customer orders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in import customer service, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of import documentation (such as Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists) and customs procedures.
- Familiarity with customs regulations, duties, tariffs, and import/export compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently while maintaining a customer-first approach.
- Proficient in using CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant software.
- Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in import/export procedures or customs brokerage.
- Experience working with international customers or freight forwarding companies.
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus (depending on your client base).
