Executive - Business Development - Legal (5-10 yrs)
The Legal Tech Business Development Executive will be responsible for sales, order book management, pre-sales and go-to-market (GTM) strategies for the Legal tech services portfolio. This role focuses on driving business growth through targeted opportunity identification and pursuit. Responsibilities include building prospect database, researching prospects to tailor solutions, generating and managing leads, ensuring successful closures, and collaborate with product teams to create value propositions.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development, with a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in custom solutions or IT service sales
Market Research and Analysis
- Understand BU's proposition, target audience; conduct research to validate the hypothesis
- Prepare database mapped to the BU's proposition and target audience
- Research prospective clients in the database
- Identify and qualify potential clients and business opportunities
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients, their needs, and pain points in the areas of Cloud / Data & Analytics / Automation / Testing
- Nurture rolodex leads, generate leads through various channels such as cold calling, networking events, industry conferences, and referrals.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline by effectively qualifying and nurturing leads.
Lead Generation and Conversion
- Develop and implement strategies and run campaigns to generate leads.
- Build and oversee a robust sales pipeline, expediting lead movement through the sales funnel
- Collaborate with internal teams to align offerings with market demands and customer expectations
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop compelling sales materials, proposals, and customized solutions to meet client requirements.
- Collaborate with BU leader to ensure successful closures of leads
- Understand client needs and provide solutions that align with their objectives
- Keep up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in the areas of focus.
- Monitor customer satisfaction, identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling, and drive client engagement and retention efforts.
Reporting and Analysis :
- Update sales pipeline on Salesforce
- Monitor and report on sales performance, market trends, and client feedback
- Use data to assess the effectiveness of business development efforts and adjust strategies as needed
Work Experience
- Prior experience in business development and sales in a Legal Tech company
- Experience working with technology products or services, such as software solutions, application development
- A strong understanding of industry trends, challenges, and emerging technologies.
- 5-7 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the technology sector.
- Experience in managing client relationships and closing deals in a B2B environment
- A demonstrable track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in previous roles
- Experience in developing and executing successful sales strategies
Education Background
- Graduate in technology (BTech/M Tech), with an MBA in Sales & Marketing from a reputed Institute / University.

Technical Acumen
- A good understanding of the technology services being offered and how they address client needs

- Comfortable working with Salesforce or related CRMs
