Executive - Business Development - Export/Logistics (0-2 yrs)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as an Import-Export Executive with a focus on sales and marketing. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of import-export procedures, and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and suppliers. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Import-Export Operations :
- Coordinate and manage the import-export process, including documentation, customs clearance, shipping, and logistics.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards for international trade.
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other third-party service providers to optimize the transportation and distribution process.
Sales and Marketing :
- Develop and implement strategies to promote import-export services and expand the customer base.
- Identify potential clients and markets for import-export opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and providing exceptional customer service.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and contracts to prospective clients.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to generate leads and increase brand awareness.
Market Research and Analysis :
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and opportunities in the import-export industry.
- Analyse market data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management for business development and strategic planning.
Documentation and Reporting :
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of import-export transactions, including invoices, bills of lading, and customs documents.
- Generate reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback for management review.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Marketing, or related field.
- Proven experience in import-export operations, sales, or marketing, with preference given to candidates who have directly participated in import-export transactions or demonstrated success in core sales and marketing roles.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and shipping logistics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and experience with import-export software is a plus.
- Fluency in additional languages is desirable but not required.
Salary Package:
The salary package for this position will be determined based on the qualifications, proficiency, experience, and demonstrated zeal of the candidate. Experience in import-export operations, sales, or marketing, particularly with direct involvement in import-export transactions or core sales and marketing activities, will be given significant consideration in determining the compensation package.
The package may also include additional benefits such as health insurance coverage, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional development. The CTC can range from 2 to 4 lakhs per annum with a stronger emphasis on variable pay. The CTC will also change in terms of roles and responsibilities, including full-time, part-time, and internship positions.
