Job Title: Sales Head

Role Overview : The Sales Head will lead and manage the end-to-end sales operation for a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) custom furniture manufacturing company, overseeing presales, sales, and post-sales teams to ensure exceptional customer experiences and strong revenue growth. This role requires a deep understanding of the custom furniture market, where customer preferences, product customization, and branding are key. The Sales Head is responsible for setting sales targets, developing and executing brand strategies, and working collaboratively across departments to ensure a seamless experience for customers from initial inquiry through delivery and post-purchase support.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Target Management:

- Develop and implement a sales strategy tailored to the D2C custom furniture model, focusing on both revenue growth and customer satisfaction.

- Set clear and measurable sales targets for each team (presales, sales, and post-sales) and create a structured approach for achieving these targets.

- Continuously analyse market trends, customer preferences, and competitive activities to adjust the sales strategy and remain competitive in the D2C space.

Team Leadership and Performance Development:

- Oversee the presales, sales, and post-sales teams, ensuring smooth coordination and communication across all stages of the customer journey.

- Set individual and team targets, monitor performance regularly, and conduct evaluations to ensure high standards of customer service and sales efficiency.

- Coach, train, and mentor the team to build expertise in custom furniture sales, including handling customer customization requests, understanding materials, and managing client expectations.

Branding and Advertising:

- Develop a brand strategy that reflects the company's values and positions it as a leader in custom furniture in the D2C market.

- Collaborate with the marketing team to create and oversee brand campaigns that emphasise product customization, quality, and craftsmanship, reaching potential customers on digital, social media, and other channels.

- Manage partnerships with influencers, interior designers, and lifestyle brands to enhance the company's presence and connect with target audiences.

Customer Experience and Relationship Management:

- Ensure that every touchpoint in the sales journey, from presales to post-sales support, enhances the customer experience and meets the standards expected in the custom furniture industry.

- Develop and implement customer feedback mechanisms, gather insights on product satisfaction, and ensure follow-ups are handled effectively to build long-term customer relationships.

- Resolve any complex customer issues, particularly those related to custom orders or high-value purchases, and maintain a high standard of responsiveness and reliability.

Sales Performance and Analytics:

- Use data and analytics to monitor sales activities, customer behavior, and team performance to identify areas of improvement.

- Prepare regular sales reports for senior management, highlighting sales performance, customer insights, and opportunities to enhance the customer journey.

- Implement CRM tools and other technology solutions to streamline sales processes, track leads, and improve team productivity.

Product and Market Expansion:

- Identify and pursue new market opportunities and customer segments for custom furniture, including exploring collaborations and partnerships that align with the brand.

- Work with the product development and marketing teams to launch new product lines or customization options based on customer feedback and market demand.

- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to stay informed about new trends, materials, and technologies relevant to the custom furniture market.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Collaborate closely with production and logistics to ensure that customer orders are manufactured to specification and delivered on schedule.

- Work with the marketing and e-commerce teams to ensure consistent brand messaging, product presentation, and customer engagement.

- Engage with finance and operations to ensure that pricing, production costs, and timelines align with business objectives.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus).

- 8+ years of experience in sales, with at least 2-3 years managing the sales team

- Demonstrated success in managing a sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets.

- Strong knowledge of D2C marketing, branding, and advertising, with experience in customer-centric sales approaches and storytelling.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and relationship management.

Customer-Centric Approach: Deep understanding of customer needs and preferences in the custom furniture industry, with a focus on personalization and quality.

Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, especially in handling complex and high-touch sales cycles associated with custom furniture.

Strategic Vision: Ability to see the broader market landscape, anticipate trends, and pivot sales strategies to maintain a competitive advantage.

Problem-Solving: Resourceful and proactive in addressing customer issues, order fulfilment challenges, and other complexities of custom manufacturing.

Performance Indicators:

- Achievement of sales targets across all customer journey stages: presales, sales, and post-sales.

- Growth in customer retention rates and overall satisfaction scores.

- Brand visibility and effectiveness of marketing and advertising campaigns in the D2C custom furniture space.

- Team performance and engagement metrics, reflecting professional growth and alignment with business goals.
