Job Description :

Overview of Role :

- The Business Development Manager - Market Insights is a key member of Essmart's management team. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to drive growth and market expansion through data-driven insights, focusing on developing strategic partnerships and identifying new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience in business development, market research, and international markets, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful strategies.

- The candidate will be a part of the Insights team to lead the efforts of building a strong business pipeline for market research. The candidate should demonstrate a capability to close deals and bring new business for Essmart's Insights vertical. They should have a strong ability to identify and capitalize on new market trends and opportunities, leveraging data-driven insights to inform business decisions and drive growth. This role will be instrumental in supporting Essmart's market expansion efforts.

Responsibilities :

- Drive business growth and market expansion through strategic partnerships and new business opportunities

- Conduct market research and analysis to identify untapped business potential, market trends, and larger projects, and develop comprehensive market insights reports.

- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Indian and international clients, partners, and industry experts, to explore and capture new business opportunities.

- Work with clients to understand their requirements, develop project proposals, negotiate pricing, and ensure successful onboarding and project execution.

- Stay up-to-date with global market trends and competitor activity, and develop and manage market intelligence databases and tools.

- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop business cases and comprehensive project plans.

Qualifications :

- Master's degree/Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, with a strong foundation in market research and analysis

- Minimum 5+ years of work experience in Business Development - Market Research, Analytics, Advisory or Similar role

- Strong knowledge of market research tools and techniques, including data analysis and visualization

- Fluency in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills

- Ability to travel for business development and market research purposes

- International experience in handling global clients (highly preferred)

- Proven track record in Business Development, specifically :

- Reaching and acquiring international clients

- Market research projects

- Fundraising or similar initiatives

Business Development skills :

- Strong ability to identify and capitalize on new market trends and opportunities

- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Effective communication skills, with the ability to incorporate feedback from cross-functional stakeholders

- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box

Collaboration and Leadership skills :

- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

- Be entrepreneurial and a self-starter, capable of handling business without the need for being micromanaged

- Mission oriented and aligned with Essmart's vision

- Strong strategic thinking and hands-on execution skills

- Continuous learning and improvement, with constructive feedback to teammates

A passion for research in a rural context :

- Drive growth and market expansion through data-driven insights, with a focus on building a robust market insights offering within Essmart

- Stay up-to-date with global market trends and competitor activity, and develop and manage market intelligence databases and tools.
