Job Title: Relationship Manager - Corporate and Commercial Banking (RM - CCB)

Job Grade: Grade E

Reports To: Head of CCB India

Location: Mumbai

Purpose of Job :

This position is responsible for marketing and booking new quality assets in the Bank's books. Responsible to meet the Branch Corporate & Commercial Business and Revenue targets for both assets and liabilities as directed by the Head of the CCB India in line with the overall Bank's policies, objectives, budget and plans. Responsible for the quality of assets booked as well as for the full recovery of both principal and interest.

Main Duties :

- Identify and market new business to achieve the budgetary targets of Commercial and Corporate Banking Department.

- Visit customers to establish the relationship in order to book and maximize utilization of the bank's services and products including cross selling of products. These to be documented in call reports.

- Assess customer's worthiness for facilities granted / to be granted and make recommendations in the form of credit applications.

- Attend to customer request promptly.

- Monitor customer accounts to ensure adherence to limits, credit policies and regulations. Conduct periodic review of the accounts.

- Ensure necessary documentation is obtained in terms of sanctions for facilities granted to the customer.

- Monitor customer activities in relation to market condition, account conduct etc., in order to protect the Bank's interest and arrange appropriate classification of accounts.

- Prepare reports / returns required by the Management, Board of Directors, Internal and External Auditors, Reserve Bank Officials, Etc., on the managed portfolio.

- Ensure Mumbai CCB objectives and targets on both assets and liabilities sides are achieved.

- Develop Mumbai Branch marketing plan and strategies in coordination with Head of CCB.

- Follow and implement approved credit policies and procedures.

- Review overdue reports on daily basis to identify potential problematic accounts and follow up directly with the clients for appropriate remedial actions. Coordinate with CRMD on problematic accounts for management and recovery.

- Any other duties as assigned by the CCB Head Mumbai Branch.

- Unit Visits to understand the operations of the company as per the Bank's Internal Policy.

- Attend Consortium Meetings and provide feedback to Head CCB through Call Reports.

- Monitor performance through Quarterly / Half Yearly / Annual Financial Statements, Ratings of External Agencies and other sources.

- Identify Early Warning Signals and take appropriate action including exiting the relationship, wherever felt necessary.

- Keep appropriate authorities informed of material deterioration in the conduct of account and take timely action to prevent potential loss to the Bank.

- Rectify deficiencies, if any, pointed out by the Auditors.

- Ensure timely completion of Annual Review of account by closely working with the Credit Analyst.

- Ensure strict compliance with RBI / Statutory Guidelines.

- Work closely with overseas units and help source business for them or provide assistance in completing due diligence on clients proposed to be on boarded.

Internal : Compliance, Audit, Risk Mgt. Dept., Credit Analyst, Credit Administration, Other Team Members of CCB, Retail Banking Dept., Trade Finance Dept., Branch Managers, RMs of Overseas Branches, Head Office functionaries, CCB Head, Country Manager.

External : Commercial & Corporate Customers, Government Agencies, Banks, Rating Agencies, RBI, External Auditors, Legal Counsel and others as required by the Bank.

Authorities & Level of Decisions Required :

Relationship Manager exercises authority within the limits assigned by the management as provided in the credit policy.

Essential Qualifications/Experience Required :

- University Degree plus Post Graduation in Business Management or Finance or other Professional Qualification like ACA, ACWA, ACS, etc. Minimum 7 years experience in banking, 5 years of which in corporate banking and credit appraisal.

- Highly developed communication skills, strong understanding of credit as well as RBI guidelines, marketing skills and strong inter personal skills.

- Adequate skills in computer application.
