d.light - Manager - Channel Development (4-10 yrs)
- The Channel Development Manager is responsible for exploring business opportunities for the organization in unconventional channels.
- In this role, the Channel Development Manager will assist in developing the Sales strategy to tap into new channels and execute it on ground by identifying potential partners. The role requires generating high quality leads that will invite new projects and accounts, pitching business proposals to clients, negotiating and closing sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research to identify prospective channels and new clientele
- Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators. Harness these to identify unconventional revenue-generating channels
- Create different business models to penetrate new and previously untapped avenues for sales and in collaboration with other functions
- Generate leads among the identified prospective channels/partners and establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in the channels identified
- Plan approaches and pitches, and develop proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Own complete business development cycle from lead generation to getting the new customer onboard
- Proactively lead a joint partner planning process to develop mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship
- Lead solution development efforts that best address end-user needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company and partner personnel.
- Finalise the commercials as well as the customer value proposition in collaboration with the partner(s)
- Proactively assess, clarify, and validate partner needs on an ongoing basis, with regular follow ups even after the customer/partner has been onboarded
- Represent the company on different forums such as conferences, events, expos and corporate gatherings
- Develop case studies and other professionally created sales collateral in collaboration with marketing
Successful Candidate Profile :
- Education - MBA in rural/agri business from premier institution (IRMA, TISS preferred)
- 4 to 8 years of business development experience (preferably in industries that target rural population)
- Possesses a strong network of contacts to develop new business opportunities and to establish business relationships with companies selling similar or complementary products
- Has extensive experience across all aspects of Sales, from Lead generation to final customer conversion
- Understands the industry and market, and has good knowledge of competitors- and their strategies
- Displays excellent problem solving ability and innovative thinking
- Possesses great communication, presentation and pitching skills
- Is a motivated and focused individual with an advanced degree of interpersonal skills
- Has the ability to write compelling and winning business proposals
- Should be open to travelling within India on a regular basis
